I can't even imagine how many hours long that backlog is lol

Probably not too long, most of their backlog will consist of filing entries and then canceling once the customer advises their backup broker already cleared it. Every customer we had that dealt with Livingston handed over everything to their backup broker and some are not going back to Livingstoned.

After meticulioisly avoiding Livingston - got stuck with TWO loads on either side of the border with them.
Load#1 - I called the shipper directly - they sent itto ITS got cleared in 30min - had sent the paperwork to Livingston the previous day at 15:00CST - not cleraed as of 15:00CST today 24hrs...

Load#2 - no luck - twiddling thumbs...called everyone I could think of... checking tracker from 'time to time'

Submitted one yesterday at 2:04 p.m. and had entry # at 2:45 p.m.
Though it was clearing for a large "adult beverage" company so that may have given it priority.

Yes, most large clients have their own teams so they are given priority. Smaller clients get thrown to teams that work on all the small to medium clients so that's why some shipments take 30 mins and others can take up to 8-12 hours.

LOL yeah I think their business has died off a lot in the last month. So many people twiddling their thumbs over there lately I bet.
I agree it's pretty crazy, since this whole fiasco I have seen maybe 2 Livingston shipments come through here, even those that were using them are staying with their backup broker.

LAYOFFS INBOUND! but seriously I wont be surprised to see a press release with Livingston doing some form of "restructuring" they have been bloated with their work force for years now.

Maybe all the business they have lost may have an impact on their workflow hence bringing down processing time. I doubt they will lay off people, just talking to some of the people there and they were really swamped with their workload, this may ease that for some time until they can figure out their stuff. As a customer, having outages at least once a month is unacceptable and especially when they are unannounced and days long.

interesting I'ev always had the opposite impression. They have had enough people but certain offices dealt with certain customers and there was not much overlap, unless there was a dire need. Thats why you had for the most part automotive customers with Livingston clear shipments at break neck speeds but P&G would take a full 24 hrs. This was also a awhile back so of course things may have changed.

Please say you are just joking
I had called them yesterday morning and they said the tracking portion of their system was down. So I couldn't see any progress on the load, and they could not see anything either, or even see what team was working on our customs. Looks like it took almost 10 hours for them to even look at it yesterday.

7 hours to clear a single PARS.

Holy fack........ How do these guys stay in business.
For a long time, Livingston having some server issues, 7 hours is nothing most of the time takes more than 12 hrs, please make sure when booking the load to ask the broker about the customs broker
