No one is forced to accept any rate...high ones or low ones. Everyone is free to complain about them, rant about them and curse the SOBs that are offering them, but no one is forced to run their trucks for non compensatory rates.
gotta screenshot this one for when the market flips.Anyone, broker or carrier, that can’t survive a period when rates are depressed, maybe doesn’t deserve to be in this business. The road isn’t always paved with gold, there is often some gravel and dirt.
Amen! Some manufacturers are still paying 2.70 a km on 5000 km
The only cheap folks are people who trade in bulk commodities .
MFG who have a finished product to get out to market want it done right and the first time without claims.

Not just those ... primarily those yes, because that is the commodities game. There is some spot freight out there that really is spot freight, in other cases the shipper hunts the lowest price on every transaction. Generally the lower the value of the shipment the more likely that it's a 'nickel and dime' shipper.100%, people seem to forget that, not every customer out there is entertaining everyone that walks through the door with the cheapest rate and high tech. Those that care about their customers will put their freight in the right hands and compensate their carriers well. We have dealt with customers where if a carrier screws up a load whether it shows up damaged, crossed docked or late they will lose their customer not just for that one location but all across the board.
Find those customers, prove your worth and you will stay busy and well paid even in the slowest times, just don't come after mine LOL
That's just batshit crazy..Bat Logistics out of Iowa.
Full Reefer from Kitchener, ON to Walton KY 600.00 US funds.
You can usually tell, when the add at the end "please provide your BEST rate", lol.To all the brokers out there - please when you email / post loads - in the subject line add:
#CheapCarrierCargo
This way we don't waste time deciding PU / del and then are asked to match a ridiculous rate from another carrier - saves us all time
Thanks
