Talked to the Coyote rep yesterday, and asked why you pay so low on Canadian freight. He said we all know this but tbh as long as rates get accepted by the carrier who cares. I asked this because he sent me a screenshot where it shows Coyote revenue on loads he asked me to cover and the minimum markup was $1350 USD on each load. He also mentioned and confirmed after I asked, all these are covered by new entrants ( new MC# s/ set up with Coyote last year).

Probably contract rates, or a customer that doesn't question rates and are out of touch with the market, very few like that but they are out there. If people are allowing them those margins then that's great for them and whoever is hauling it.

New MC's that came into the market during the boom for the riches and are taking these loads will be crying very soon and by the looks of most of these Facebook groups they already are. Most of these folks are Guys that were owner ops and got greedy and wanted a bigger piece of the pie and got in with no knowledge of the market, they were getting whatever amount they could come up for rates and rolled with it. Now the market is in a dip and those same guys are taking freight at whatever price is offered, no negotiations. These are the guys in BC taking loads to Chicago for $3600 CDN with $250k Trucks and $100K dry vans. Absolutely no clue what their cost is but hey as long as the wheels are turnin your earning, until you're not.
