Cheap Freight of the day

Let's take that line by line.
why did you take so personal about but i have wrote.do you work for rome?
I took nothing from your post personally. Frankly, I couldn't care less what you think of me.
Do I work for Rome. No, I do not.
Do I work with Rome? Yes, I do.
Do I haul cheap freight? No, I do not ... even for Rome.
What I do for Rome is between me and Rome, but I will tell you they pay me well above industry average for my services.
How about when broker found cheap carriers to do there load and says to other carrier that its not ready yet. That is also a lie isnt it?
I see. So that makes it okay for you to lie?
Riddle me this ... if everyone else jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?
everyone do best for themselves..... here we are talking about cheap rates and brokers ROME IS ONE OF THEM.
You are 100% correct that everyone does the best for themselves. Why should Rome, or any other broker for that matter, be any different? Are they not entitled to maximize their profits just because they are a broker?
If you are buying a new truck you don't turn down a deal because it's too cheap do you?
If you are financing it, you don't tell the bank the aren't charging enough interest do you?

It never ceases to amaze me that some carriers think that load brokers are supposed to be responsible to carriers for the carriers bills?
Your business is not their business. THEY DO NOT CARE whether you live or die. IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM.
Carriers need to stop looking at load brokers as scum bags. Reserve that title for real estate brokers as they deserve it.
At the least, load brokers are nothing more than an extension of a carrier's sales arm. They provide a service for a fee. If you don't like their fee, don't use their service.
At the most, load brokers are integral business partner, and can enhance your business immensely. If you don't believe me, ask any carrier that's been in business for more than 15 or 20 years, albeit, I've been doing this for 41 years now at a company that been trucking for 61 years, and is still going.
you wrote this much big letters as it means you do care what i have wrote about CHEAP BROKER.
That's what i told at the first place that we don't work with rome. we don't want what they pay you or not we are also in this industry from so long at least pay what the fair.
you guys are below the average. so mind your business i m doing mine. Realty is realty.

Look, you can decide to deal with cheap brokers or decide not to. That choice will always remain with you. If you do decide to accept a rate that you normally wouldn’t, don’t whine about it or complain. Look at it as a lesson to avoid getting yourself in that position in the future. If you continue to accept cheap rates, well….. there is a name for that type of behaviour.

we always say NO TO CHEAP FREIGHT.

Calling BS on this one. We have all hauled loads we wish paid better to get the guys home
Exactly!!! No one likes it, it is nothing to be proud about, but sometimes you grit your teeth and mark it up to an operational necessity. Those however, who continually use basement brokers shouldn’t be complaining too loudly, as they are the ones who keep these deadbeats in business!

Whether you're a basement broker or you're one of the "successful" brokers who happens to work out of dank mildew infested office in a strip mall.. we all get it wrong sometimes. I quoted a customer today based on market info I have available to me. No takers. even though my rate was good enough for an identical load to move with no issues last week. There's no "correct rate".. the market is in a constant state of flux.. especially at the present time.

I agree with this, and I think it highlights a very important point.

I'm sure we've all been in this situation more times than we'd like because of the immense pressure we face.

My assessment of this board is that most people here seem to occupy some sort of leadership position and feel they are unfairly held accountable for market conditions that are out of their control by their drivers or employees.

We have to do things that contradict our reason (or income statement) just to be able to take care of people. So yea, I can understand why people get angry or frustrated. It fucking sucks sometimes.

When you get into the volume game it speaks levels... even $500 profit each truck end of the month adds up when you have 100+ units!

Thats just terrible math at the end of the day. Have to look at the ROI and margins. 200K profit seems beautiful, but when you invested $20,000,000 to make 200K. Id say you need to take a entry level course on finance

I am pretty sure Banks will give 200k a month just to deposit 20 million in the account. surely terrible math
