Cheap Freight of the day

we stopped hauling Atlantic loads a while back now. They mess up your trailers and half the time, those "appts" the chirp about they don't even follow them. I assume they pay fair if you work with them directly, but through the brokers its not worth it. Its a dumb reality we live in where 1 guy undercuts his rates to "keep the account" when the next time around another guy cuts even further to "win the account". Only way this ends is stop hauling cheap.
If I remember correctly, Atlantic also has 90 pay terms... Although that's nothing compared to the famous AB terms of 6 months

It'd be hard to convince me to drive from my yard to Whitby and back though the city twice for 850 bucks let alone from PA.
aint that the truth, the traffic in the GTA getting across from one end to eh other is a JOKE. Never thought I'd say this, but Dougie was right we need that new Highway!

Well I suspect a lot of brokerages are going broke because of this silliness. As with carriers, everyone is grabbing at anything, and it's just causing everyone to drown a little slower.

Just say NO folks it is all we can do. I see lots of loads being posted over and over beacause everyone is saying no to the shit rate. . Keep up with the no's fuck off's get a life whatever your favorite saying to these azzhats offering rates of the 70's. I must say the list is getting long of carriers and brokers that are not going to like it when it gets busy again when they need a truck. Park em against the fence is cheaper that losing money every mile.

Bison here

Loaded trailer Bolton to Mississauga / $275 ( Walmart delivery)

But here is the catch
When you pull bison trailers, carriers are liable to pay $30 per day for dry van $70 for reefer. Soo -70 from 275. $205 ..

This rate is wild.

Yesterday, I paid a carrier $650 to go from Red Deer to Edmonton. Nothing special just a simple transfer.

Carrier had a driver empty in Red Deer. 1.5 hour drive and I thought I was low balling at $650...

The trailer exchange is charged hourly. No need to worry about $30 or $70 unless you keeping it if for the full 24hrs.

I have done a few of these load in the past in my own trailers for a different rate. The biggest issue is waiting time. They have a cap on how much waiting time they can pay. Once in a while, it goes over the limit and than you are paying out of pocket.

trailer exchange should mean you have my trailer and i have yours - there should be no charge at all.... that's the point of the 'exchange' ...

the most dumbest argument I'ev heard from the Big carriers and brokers. Best believe they bill every single min to their customers and then cap the guys that are actually doing the job. We'ev been approached a few times by the bigger carriers to run their freight and I choose not too. Not in the business of helping my competition look like super stars.
