How much do you want to make a bet that the bolded details are a copy and paste from another broker offering it for the same amount but in US? All you have to do is add CDN behind the rate. Bam, you make 30% +
I used to work at said broker.

Highly unlikely with them. They do tend to play by the rules. They have a TON of other issues but double brokering wouldn't be one of them.

Hello Amazon DC's lol

that mount hope is YHM1 based on the location, postal, and delivery appt details.

That St Thomas is amazon as well I bet.

Our rate from North York for YHM is ~375 + FSC , that 250 is dirt cheap. but I'm sure someone will grab em both.

dont forget the del appts: 23:00 and 22:00...which really means, 04:00 AM the next morning before the red light. $35/hr after 3 hours though, bring on the bacon!

I sincerely don't get how ppl make money hauling these...

ya 2200 and 2300 at either one of those is at least 5am-6am before your clear from the dock, unless its super hot and amazon is waiting for it... seen 53s offloaded in less than 40 mins and started within 15 mins of appt time at YHM too... extremely rare and only cause it was a super hot item for amzn at the time.

wtf.. $35 an hour for detention after 3 hours.. HARD PASS... try $48 / hr and we start the clock after 1 hour....
3 hours free, good luck making any money when your handing out 3 hours of free time at a known location that detains...

You are lucky if you get the full waiting time. A lot of the brokers pay flat $150.00 cad layover after 3 hours.

they still got the fooseball and pool tables at the scarborough office..I hear'em in the background every time I call on their loads lol
Doesn't help they hire only 20 year olds straight from uni/college.

Grateful for training but it was legit a frat house there.

For us Its comes down to which brokers we do business with and how we do that business. We are actually pretty selective, mainly around payment terms, but contractual / broker / carrier fine print also comes into play in determining if a prospect becomes a termed account holder. Its "our terms or the highway"... no middle ground. The downside is it really limits on which brokers/3pl we can work with, as most have crazy fine print they want us to sign.... first issue is the clause is always about not contacting shipper or receiver or third parties for payments, regardless if they don't pay the bill... like hell, we will always reserve our legal right as a carrier under the Mercantile Act or HTA to contact any and all parties for payment if we get stiffed by a broker. Unfortunately, we've turned down work from a lot of USA brokers, due to the boiler plate fine print they refuse the budge on that really have not reference or legal standing ground in Ontario. Another biggie for us the Jurisdiction clauses... If its not Ontario, its not going to work for us.

Helped us weed out some cheapskake brokers or even direct potential clients who approach us and want 3 hours free, no appointment fees, ya da ya da...

Rest assured if we are hauling your freight and the trucks wheels aren't turning, your about to be billed for waiting time if you're outside of the free allowances.

Got offered CDN $900.00 for a load from the GTA to Lancaster, PA. Is this the going rate? If so I might need to move my equipment south.
