Cheap Freight of the day

Beats running home for $0 USD I guess. I think brokers are going to pay a hefty price for this ridiculousness down the line.
Also I imagine some carriers hauling that stuff might be taking "secret" LTL freight.. If you know what I mean.
Heard they are having bidding wars on who gets to runs the secret LTL for the cheapest. #freightrecession

I have not dropped my rates inbound/outbound in any significant way, all of my inbound truckloads are being hauled by the same guys I have worked with for 5+ years or more. That being said, would it be wise to say that perhaps carriers are now paying for the ridiculous gouging that happened between 2020 - late 2022? Sometimes we were getting rate upwards of $10 a mile for a few skids of ltl. I find it interesting that there is no acknowledgement of that when carriers cry about the scummy brokers now taking advantage, as if the scummy carriers didn't do the same for 2 years... Just have to find good partners no matter what side of the fence you are on.

No it doesn't actually as taking shitty rates causes more shitty rates. Everyone was to say go fuck yourself if I am going to go broke may as well do it sitting on the couch as pounding your ass up and down the road at a loss. I have told brokers for years keep it i will come home empty first. At that point I hear the well this is better than nothing BS and no it is not coming home empty losing money or drag some asses 44k load home still lose money as everyone else makes a buck on the load? Sorry Charlie not me that shit can sit there and rot before I will haul it at a loss so you and everyone else can get rich.

The worst is when during the boom you gave the shipper a solid rate without being biased to the market and "leaving money on the table by not quoting $4 a mile" in good favour of developing a long term relationship.

Then you have the shipper say remove your trailers from the pool, we found someone to run it for cheaper without any warning when the market goes the other way.

Yeah, this happened, a lot.

Yeah. Winter is going to be very tough. Hope ya'll got some savings packed away.

Not a surprise considering the company that posted it. See a post by them just click it as called as no use wasting the time to call or email their rates are a joke.
Chill Fresh beat that rate last week. paying $1100 from Immokalee FL to Costco Vaughan by appointment.

came empty to KY and picked up dry for $1500.
