If the broker agrees to the 500 mile deadhead then separate the rate for deadhead on the confirmation, maybe $750 for deadhead to pick up and the load rate of $1,500 or whatever. Don't move the truck if the broker wont separate the charges.Sometimes it really pays to look two or three moves ahead to identify potential problems.. a massive tonu due to a 500 mile deadhead can be avoided by not accepting the truck in the first place.. a Nike in reverse.. just don't do it!
And I am one of the "further afield"It was tried a couple of years back. Problem from I what I understand is finding a suitable, convenient location. Members of this site are scattered across the GTA, the Province and further afield.
