19k into Alaska
6500 into NY ( loaded mile difference is 10% - the price difference is 110% )

So when they tell me the client is cheap - it sounds to me like the broker is funny.

The client will pay what the market rate is, if the broker/carrier is offering unrealistic rates then the client will expect unrealistic pricing. We have had conversations with clients that will tell us their broker is moving a load for X and if we can come down, we advise them to book with that broker and 9/10 they come back and want to book at our price. Just because someone can offer low prices does not mean they can deliver. We see it more and more especially recently where firms have offered extremely "competitive" pricing and can't fulfill it.

Well you will have a little better chance of not running back to Washington empty from NY Alaska maybe not so much.
Yea if one loads up in Pasco and drives to AK and then just deadheads home to Downtown Saint Johns Newfoundland and does another 200 miles of sightseeing in Yukon the rate will still be 3.19 a mile.

On the otherhand if one loads up in WA with paper and drives direct = 1.84 a mile.

This one may actually pay well if the CDN/US exchange rate gets up above 2.00.. oh and for that rate you have to provide tracking through MacroPoint.

I remember back in 2016 ON to TX was on average about $3800 to $4200 USD...for $2200.00 those "auto parts" should collect dust on the warehouse floor.
I suggested the same and got this:
"We already move it at $2200 4 times a week, the only reason we are looking for different options not all their drivers are willing to accept macropoint "

sounds more like we are stuck with this rate and no one wants to take it. Macro point is annoying but it's not stopped us from taking a load if it paid right.
