Hi

I’m looking for a dedicated carrier on a rounder from ON-PA///PA-ON

At the beginning of the month I will send you the line up for the whole month with all the loads.

I will give you the outbound and the inbound at the same time.

I will need you to send your driver bobtail to Whitby, ON and pick up a preloaded trailer from there. Then I need you to deliver it in Hatboro, PA and then do a pick up in York, PA and come back to drop the trailer in Whitby, ON

I will give you 1 load per day, every day, Monday to Friday. All I need from you is a bobtail driver and make sure those loads are delivered on time and put a priority on them.

Let me know if that is something you can do

Also, if you don’t want to be dedicated I can also give you a rounder for certain days

Thank you,

A whole 2k been getting this email for a week I wonder why no one has jumped on this great deal? Maybe the fact you would lose money on every mile every day may have something to do with it?

LOL got this one too, went straight to the trash bin. Fuel used to be good, but I see they are just joining the rest of the pack these days.

I've been at this a long time and do not remember Fuel ever paying or offering a fair rate unless the market demanded.....been on the other side of the fence for a while maybe I missed it ;-0

You have not missed shit. They are still the first ones to drop rates and it could be day to day with them. They seem to look at truck volumes and rate accordingly to the amount of trucks on a given lane a certain day. Lots of good folks work there but it is all about Fuel they do not seem to give a flying fuck about the carriers they deal with. All good we still pull the odd load when they find their wallet as I said there are some good folks working there. It must work they seem to get shit covered and keep the same clients.

ya we matched up on some stuff ages ago, and it worked out at the time for what we needed. Ever since that dried up we never really did work with them. Were decent to deal with but once we saw the rates fall off a cliff we took the good memories with us.

You hit the nail smack on the head Rob, when you said “they seem to get shit covered and keep the same clients”. Regardless of what the actual rate is, high or low, if there is just one carrier who says yes to it, thats all that matters. The load is moved, the customer is happy and life goes on uninterrupted. What may seem like an out of this world, crazy, low rate to one guy, could be all that another carrier needs to make the rounder work. Crappy rates have always been a constant in our industry, and when the economy slows as it is now, they get even crappier. Brokers who drive rates ever lower in pursuit of a bigger profit margin, are taking a risk. First of all, can they even find a carrier to cover the freight and second, they are putting off with their low offerings, a large number of carriers who they very well may need at some time in the future. To say nothing of the additional time and stress scrambling to cover a crap paying load. Not my cup of tea thank you.

So like I don't dip too much into the outbound side of this but is $1200 to GA a thing? Cause I keep getting told that is the rate currently?

for DV? Definitely shouldn't be, but wouldn't be surprised if someone was trying to sell for that. I'm seeing low to mid 2k for outbound GA and low 2k or high teens even for inbound. That's in CAD and considering it's going to ATL area from GTA.

Maybe in the nineties. Works out to you are losing money on every mile at 1200. I just turned down 1800 to NC.
Oh well aware that is a big loser. Just not sure why 4 companies have now hit us with 1200-1300 for GA stuff.

Is it going to Atlanta area?

$1200 is produce rate when melons are in season. Basically fuel to get down there.

No way that should be the rate right now though.

Meanwhile back at the ranch.. I've got some good paying interstate freight that I have trouble moving..
