Recently a few of my customers has said C.H. Robinson has contact them for business. I had used them on a couple times and now they are going after my business. Do they use another business name on Load Link other then C.H. ?( trying to block any postings I may have)

Thank you all

Certainly doesn’t come as a surprise that CH Robinson would back solicit customers that came from other freight brokers. It sounds like someone needs to tighten up their vetting process so that your loads don’t get placed with brokers like CH Robinson, TQL and a host of others. Times are tough right now with too much capacity and less freight than the last couple of years. Back soliciting is usually the first method less scrupulous operators will employ to keep revenue up. Giving your loads to other freight brokers will only make matters worse.

Back solicitation only works if your customer allows it to. If they're happy with you then they will tell the back solicitor no thanks. At least that's been my experience. It's a competitive world where our suppliers are also our competitors at times.

Very true. However, nothing can put a strain on long term, mutually beneficial relationships more than the offer of a lower cost. The market is tight and people are scrambling to keep their revenue stream healthy. I predict that we will see more instances of back solicitation in the months to come, along with the further deterioration of rates. As others have said, this will continue until the market stabilizes with the exit of a number of carriers and brokers, reducing capacity to levels that can service the reduced demand.

Also makes the case for low rates. If your rates to your shipper are low enough it will be harder for someone else to come in to undercut you. You have a nice juicy rate and you can pay your carrier a primo rate? Now you're a sitting duck to have that carrier and others come in and undercut you ..

Some times they hide under shell companies with different names which is sneaky. But ch isnt a carrier that does that. Only one i know that plays the shell companies story is LRGR.

It's their agency model leads to tons of sketchy stuff. I can become an agent tomorrow if I wanted, the vetting is a joke.

Who is to say they back solicited though? They would have quite the sales force and it's possible that their stock value has rained down to the sales managers being all over the salespeople.

Wow. All I asked was if C.H. had any other companies they use if they are blocked. For the ones that tried to answered the original question thank you. Its amazing the joy some people have insightful option and redicule without all the facts. Its the times we live in I guess.
