Ursus transport

We have delt with Ursus for over 5 years and have had no issues with them what so ever. They are good people and good to work with.

Does anyone have any info on Ursus as far as trucking? I saw one of their trucks on the road today it looked pretty tired.

I've used them a bunch of times in the last 4 months and never a problem in regards to equipment

I'm pretty sure their drivers are all owner-ops. it's like it was when I had owner ops ... once they're hired and working decent you don't want to let them go ... even if they run their trucks too long sometimes.

Don't we all? :D

I have dealt with Ursus a couple of times. The first time my new dispatcher under quoted them on a run and I know they knew he did. When I called them and said I would honour the quoted rate, he said he would "make it up to me on the next one".

Being that that saying doesn't hold much water, I dismissed it, and chalked it up to my dispatchers inexperience.

The next run we did for them, he added on a few bucks to make up for the last one. I was impressed with that.

They paid the last bill with us in 35 days but make sure you send in your updated WSIB and a copy of the Custom Doc's or they will stall. It took us a few times but we learned to send the WSIB with every bill it is easier that way.

Ursus

We had a little issue with them about 5 years ago. We brokered a load of chicken to them and everything went well. 3 months later we found out that the load was never inspected at FDA. I had to bring back the remaining product at my cost and the shipper deducted $22000 off of my account with them. My insurance would not cover the loss as it was not on our truck. Tried to get some compensation from Ursus and was told that they couldn't help us. I contacted their insurance company and found out that at the time of the incident there was no record of that truck being on their fleet. In the end I got the short end of the stick and since I had already paid Ursus they were not willing to help me out at all and never called me again on my freight.

I wonder if they double brokered the load and all of your special instructions were lost in translation
