What !!! ... there were like 4 Irish immigrants that were teetotallers !!! I kid of course :)
To your point about new Canadians. There is a bigger percentage of the easy-money-minority now than there has ever been, and unfortunately a large part of them end up in this industry.
You are right that most parents don't want their kids to grow up to be criminals, but foreign parents are sending their 18 and 19 year old kids here with no other worldly experience, and no supervision once they get here. Those parents counted on the government's promise to watch over them, and the government failed miserably.
The point that you are recognizing there is a new world order is important.
'Easy money' mentality is prevalent today with most young one, whether immigrant or not. They don't want the hard work, and look for other ways to make money.

I agree. In general, most people are looking to do less work, less hours, less responsibility but expect more money, more time off and more concessions. The symptoms are exponentially worse as you go younger.

I don't know how kids are making ends meet without the parents help.

And for those who do want to work, the sky is the limit. My daughter started working at a men's clothing store last year... now she's the manager of the store with a staff of eight under her. 18 years old.. store manager. Maybe my memory isn't what it once was, but I seem to recall that the 70s and 80s were tough times for employment. I tell people that now and almost invariably I get told that I'm totally wrong.. that today things are much tougher... I don't know.. haven't looked for a job in a long time..

I have been accused of double brokering by Scotlynn before and was able to prove we did not double broker. Its funny that it seems lots of double brokering happens in the industry but it depends on how you word it sometimes with different companies. I have heard the term "co-brokering" which is a nice way of saying double brokering, isnt it?

Yes it is, along with using a “sister company”, helping out a buddy, and a host of other names and phrases. It really boils down to, not doing what you said you would do and then making a profit on that failure to honour those commitments. If you take a shipment and then determine you can’t haul it, call the person you got the load from and together, come up with a solution, keeping in mind that the owner of the goods interest should be front and centre in that decision.

I haven't read all four pages of this Scotlynn fee, so maybe it was mentioned but - how long have they been a factoring company too? We just received a NOA from them. (SG Capital)
