I am looking for recent comments regarding S.P. Freight Systems, 14 Angelucci Dr., Brampton. I had noted them in our carrier data base as DNU based on some past negative comments on this site, but now when I search for them, I cannot find any posts on them. This is most likely an error on my part, so if anyone has some info, please let me know. They are looking to haul some of our freight and I would like to be sure about them first. Thanks in advance.

S.P Freight Systems
60 Eastern Ave
Brampton ON

905-456-2167

My note:
08-11-10 - do not use under any circumstances, missed pickup for 48 hours with bs excuses.

In retrospect, after 12-24 hours we really should be rebooking those - 48 hours is pretty embarassing.

Keep well,

Mike

Thanks MikeJr. I tried again to find those posts without success. Typed in S.P. Freight in the search function, and it came up "no matches". Any idea what it is I am doing wrong? Thanks again.

Wish I could tell you, I went into my profile and searched 'all posts by me' as I knew I had posted about these guys before...

It's a shame the search results do not always give us what we are looking for, I see this typically with the "x x x, x & x, x.x.x., etc..." kind of company names.

Grrr,

Mike

I would avoid at all costs. Not only were they late for 2 of my shipments, they got mad when I had to call 4 times, as they couldn't locate their driver for the better part of the day.

Told me they would call me back with an update - never happened and then had the audacity to say I was driving them crazy calling!

Carriers like this don't care about your freight or your clients. Just filling the truck and delivering whenever it suits them.

WOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where to start? I will GLADLY tell you not to use this company, they lost me a new customer on the first load out of the gate!
I gave SP some LTL at the start of March to go from the Toronto area to Calgary. Not a difficult request by any means. SP promised me it would be 3-day, fast delivery as the truck they were putting my order on was a team-driven truck.
"Great!" I thought...

SP Freight did not ONCE call to update me on the location of their truck or the delivery ETA of my product. I called them daily for updates. Up till Wednesday, my product was supposedly on schedule... but once day #3 arrived; Wednesday, my product was NOT delivered. I was told over the duration of the following two days that my product was always "5 MINS AWAY, WE PROMISE".
Even with being late, they did not ONCE call me with updates, I was forced to chase them every step of the way... and then turn around and give the lies they told me to my customer as I had no further information. I was told everything from the driver is lost and trying to find it, to the driver is tied up at another delivery... etc etc... they alternated between so many excuses, and got caught up in so many of their own lies!
Once they did finally make it to the delivery location, there was yet another issue - they used improper equipment, and the dry van they used was too low to back into the dock of the delivery location! This left me scrambling to cross dock the now 2-day late shipment, and have another carrier make the delivery. The wasted time, extra charges, stress level and lies they caused were unbelievable, and to top it all off, the new customer was (needless to say) completely unimpressed and has declined to ship with our company again.
I have never been more let down by a transport company. Delays happen. that is understandable. two days of lies, lack of communication.... those things are not excusable. I would recommend shipping your freight via little red wagon, horse and cart... or even divvy it up into backpacks and let some hikers carry it before using these guys.. Just my (horrible) experience...

"Peel Regional Police said thieves made off with two 53-foot trailers loaded with Sony Playstation 3 and PSP game consoles, games and accessories.
Constable Wayne Patterson said the trucking company’s owner had picked up the equipment from a Sony distributor in the Greater Toronto Area and left the trailers for two days in his Eastern Avenue compound until he could deliver them to stores in the GTA.
When he returned on Wednesday evening, the trailers were missing. Police were still searching for the trailers, and the electronics, on Thursday evening.
A spokesperson for the company, S.P. Freight Systems, confirmed his trailers were stolen, but declined to comment." quote from National Post article Nov. 19, 2010.

I would like to think that after reading about how this "ship of fools" used little to no diligence, or intelligence, in securing what they knew to be a high value, easily salable load, anybody would risk even talking to them. A Google search of them shows them having a facebook page under the title "S P Freight Systems Sdn Bhd". What you may ask, is "Sdn Bhd" the acronym of ? Sendirian Berhad, the (Malay equivalent to incorporated). Most multi-national companies will, at a minimum, start with a nationally, or provincially incorporated company as a division of the multi-national, even if just for the sake of apperances. This is one business that would stop me cold from the get go!

S.P. Freight is affiliated with Samrath Enterprises in Brampton. Another "stand up" business.

Do a forum search on Samrath - there is enough information noted.

Don't just walk away from S.P. Freight....run like the wind....

SP Freight

I almost made the mistake of giving them a load last week. Thankfully there is enough information on this site which allowed me to make a better decision.

I am happy I followed my gut feeling last week. I had a full load from Regina Sk to Laval PQ and S.P Freight called and said they really needed this load and would be willing to take it for $2000.00. I checked this site, and also couldnt find anything on them, I dont know why but I have trouble searching on this site... Regardless I am glad I decided to follow my gut feeling, there is usually a reason why a carrier rates would be so low!!

Awful

Yikes, where to start on these guys.... built an LTL load for them with 3 picks and 3 drops...VCR-WPG , easy lane, picked up without issue...delivery appt in Regina was to be at 11 pm before heading into Winnipeg...calls me the day before and tells me he called my customer and changed the delivery time to 10:00 am so he could ensure delivery in Winnipeg the following day, well they called to tell me it had been delivered in Regina and they were on-route to Winnipeg.\

Needless to say this wasnt the case and they had not delivered and did not make the delivery in Winnipeg as promised ( AND PAID FOR ) , so with all of the lack of communication and lies I told him that he would have to wait until Monday to be unloaded, he told me to beat it, and dumped it of at a crossdock facility's front end and left it sitting as they knew nothing about it....I was forced to incurr these charges of the cross-dock facilty delivering the load on the Monday

Absolutly the worst company I have ever dealt with and wouldnt do business again with them even if they said they would do it for free

Sandy are you really looking for an update? Did you read what has been said about these clowns. If you did and are still considering giving them freight go ahead - but just pm me your customers name so I can go see them Monday and pick up the work you are about to lose.

I was born at night but not last night...but thanks for that jab. I spent 10 minutes on the phone arguing with S.P. about their service failures, refering to this thread and thought I would post to see if anyone else had anything recent to say, merely to fuel my fire...

we would do a cross dock in regina for them, deliver the goods, and get a credit card# for the delivery charges. Lo and behold, I am now waiting unit the middle of Sept for a 200.00 invoice, Sunny tells us there is no money left on his credit card, so; for those of you who give them the freight for deliveries in Regina, not to fear, we did deliver the merchandise. we will no longer be cross docking any other shipments for them either.
