Reference Daville Transport Carrier MC#727947

Sorry I don't have more than this (we upraded our system in April last year):

He's a carrier set up with us but it's been over 8 months so no current history. There is a note in his profile (Rob used to be at Tiger Express Inc.).

You did say 'anything', sorry couldn't be more help.

Keep well,
Mike

Well here we go...Last Wednesday Dave (the owner) called me on a posting we had for trailers for use out of Detroit area - as his trailer had major issues and he needed to get it fixed. But had a load that must move - so I gave him a trailer number to use and he would have it up and empty at his Brampton place by Friday. Called for updates Friday - no return calls, sent couple emails no reply...oh well Friday no worries.

This goes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and I'm pretty much done being dodged - where the heck is our wagon? Well...they were in an accident and his trailer a w/o so they transferred the load into ours in IN (still can't find out where) and our trailer is now with their driver (sitting in a hotel) somewhere in NB waiting for a new store that is not ready to take the store fixtures. Now apparently they are floor loaded (BS - sent me pictures of the trailer and I can see the product on skids!!!!!) and that is why he did not transfer the load onto another trailer MORE BS....

So they have taken our trailer to who knows where without authorization and now will not pay for our aggrivation and use of our trailer. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, not sure anymore folks but this is up in the WOW area for me.

what a joke I'm sure our trailer is somewhere in Brampton but they claim is it empty in NS and heading to NY to deliver on Sunday night but we will not have our trailer back until ummmmm Tue/Wed but Thursday latest!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On our DNU and would not trust them with any freight as seem to be the type that runs and hides and lies!!!!

Will update condition and when we get our wagon back

..too many "what if's" happening here. For consideration...I would contact their Insurance Company and make them aware of what is happening. With them just having an accident, I am sure the Insurance Company would like to have this info for their files as they continue to "measure" this Carrier.

Have the pictures have spoken with the adjuster their trailer this load was in is a W/O, they had an accident for sure and used our trailer to get the load up to here BUT was to be put onto one of theirs for final delivery in NB or NS (still have no idea and they wont say). We fully understand what the issue is for them (adjuster locked and sealed trailer if they remove any damage from accident is on them fully). So if they would have just asked and told us no issue pay for use of our wagon and we can all move on. BUT hide and lie is their way to handle this issue so want to inform all as if they do this to someone that is trying to help them (as well us of course move our wagon up) wonder what happens with other issues they run into.

Well that is enough for one week have great weekend all and GO RAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well saga almost finished on this one but having issues with compensation for their use of our trailer..............................anyone here feel 500.00 is too much to ask for 2 weeks usage and 4000 odd miles on our trailer? Apparently they get them for 250 all in................not sure why they just did not rent it instead of stealing ours

Last 'unplanned' trailer drop was $50/day.
And that's not putting miles on.
Your offer is more than reasonable.
I hope they realize making friends is better for long term business goals than pinching you for $250 (deserved dollars).
Keep well,
Mike

May I offer a small tidbit here...if it was my trailer...I would be checking that thing with a fine tooth comb. Right down to the bogies and landing gear..everything. I can only imagine the care it received while under their custody. That's why we won't lend our trailers to anyone. You have 1 driver hit a curb and your bogies can be shot..to the tune of thousands of dollars. And you might not see the damage right away. Just a little friendly advice. :0)

Do check the trailer,
We once switched trailers with Bison on a load, we dropped the trailer in their yard two days later and got ours back 3 weeks later, after having gone 30 km's to get it ( we needed it badly by then). We had no hubometer so could not tell where it had been. No major damage was spotted , although the chains retaining the barn doors were cut and rendered useless, had to use bunjee cords to hold the door open while loading the next load. Then back to the yard to replace the hardware. The Bison driver must have been a genius, incapable of figuring out how to unhook a chain!!
That little escapade must have cost $200.00

Oh shakey man, you do get into some interesting situations. Make sure the driver doesn't just do a drop and run.

I agree check it then check it again.

In a past life of mine we had a truck in Chicago with a load that the consignee wouldn't take until the following week. A "friend" was nice enough to lend me his spotted trailer so that we could pick up the load we committed to. We picked up our load - delivered in Toronto and returned the trailer (the o/o even picked up the dispatcher a bottle for his trouble). A week later that carrier was to pull our trailer back and deliver to us. The 8 - 2 month old tires had been removed and replaced with a fatigued set of re-caps.

Of course, no one had any idea how that happened.

WOW Nawk.......................trailer here free of damage just over 4000 miles on it and they were nice enough to give us 250.00 USD T check.........................driver very nice.......truck I would inspect it very well if I was in scale house........................hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

KARMA!!!!!!!!

just putting my file away on this one and noticed an email from them read about US paying THEM to bobtail home from NS, missed it first time I read as was seeing RED!!! Bad on me will never give trailer for use without knowing company!!! PS acident never mentioned in phone call with them.

Below is half of email

Think about that if you or anyone you know give them freight
First, you agreed with us to pick-up a choice of 2 dryvans from Temperance, MI, also, we explained that we had an accident in MI and would be bring this back, unload, then return your trailer to you in Concord, ON. NO Time limit was specified, as we had to communicate with the receiver for a new appointment.

Now, for what has happened:

It took the crossdock in Benton Harbor, insurance adjuster and tow company to get together to cross the load from our damaged trailer to your trailer, this took 2 days to complete. During this process we now lost our delivery time on the original load, which is mute now as the store was not ready for this load anyway.

Next, the Clarke trailer was sealed by the insurance adjuster, now we have no choice but to take the trailer full trip, make a new delivery time, in hopes of no freight being damaged.

The trailer being now on full trip mode means we cannot just drop off this trailer in NS and bobtail home, doubt that you would want to pay us for this.
