I just received a call and my call display showed as Ongo Logistics @ 905-232-2007. A guy asked me for a truckload flatbed from Niagara Falls, ON to Toronto, ON. I asked him if it was a posting of ours and he stated he was looking for equipment. I explained to him we only do brokerage and have no assets. He then proceeded to ask me to post it for him. I asked who this was and he immediately hung up on me.
Beware of this company as it sounds like they are up to no good.
Be well.

I will not use this company again under any circumstances. Was schedule to do a pickup for me and fed me nothing but lies. Did not pickup the day it was suppose to pickup, guaranted me he will pickup next day at 8am. Told me a few times the following morning he guaranteed his driver was on route to pickup, even promising me pickup by times. Finally around 1pm they cancelled as he said the driver was not dispatched as he previously stated 4 times and will not be able to do my pickup.
Don't care how desperate I may be to cover a shipment I will never use them again.

Charlie, for some reason I feel you have good intentions but the truth of the matter is you have no business operating a trucking company. Until and unless you accept the basic premise that the truth is the best way, perhaps you should look into Burger King.

I'll chime in regarding service received:

Ongo (this month) handled 2 same day local FB loads (no tarps required) for us. Steve and Charlie's communication was ok, the loads picked up and delivered as promised, the BOL's have Ongo all over them (the loads were not rebrokered) and we'd certainly work with them again if the opportunity presents itself.

Perhaps they offer different customers different levels of service? Perhaps they had a very difficult day causing service issues. If we have a few on vacation and a few with appointments, family tragedy or illness sometimes there can be a slight impact on service. I know, it sucks to admit and things can be done to prevent but every now and then the stars line up and it's a hectic day (more than usual).

Outright lying (some carriers do this occasionally, some as a business practice)... I'm not sure what to say about that except it's better to not take an order and be honest about your capacity than it is to book 110%-125% of your capacity and know that you will have to let a portion of your customers down. Those that you let down eventually will stop calling you. Saying no now to a little bit of business actually strengthens your long term relationships with your clients. They know if they call you and you take an order you will honour your word, if you are maxxed out they will realize they need to contact you with more notice. Just my 2 cents (sometimes worth 3 cents).

Keep well,
Mike

Really reaching Charlie.
I can guarantee you that no one from our office has called you. Secondly the situation that was commented below was the 1st load you were going to pull for us. There was never anything done before or after with us. So the comment about "our loads are always problems" are what we would expect from you - a lie!

This popcorn that Glen is sharing us me is great, could use a little more salt in the wounds?

Anyone looking for picks from the Niagara Region, we recently started using a company called Wolverton Transport out of Welland. Service (less than 10 loads book in less than 30 days) has been great and on-time, with drivers actually paying attention to small details noted on BOL's etc.. Excellent start to a relationship with Wolverton Transport.

Debbie from Tallman is over at Wolverton now, would highly recommend! Great service no matter where she is!

Moderators,

Can we maybe pull out the Wolverton bits of this thread and place it into the carrier relations section? We need to recognize good carriers who multiple players in the industry have vouched for....

DNU LIST ongo logistics .
double- brokered loads and then reach out to customers for payments..
use false language over call.
