NJ Transport

Any updates on these guys? Have they gotten any better? they have been emailing on quite a few of our loads, we have been hesitant to entertain their offers.

ive seen nj transport straight trucks around montreal and nj day cab with unmarked white trailers in cornwall.

But nothing else that leads me to believe they send their own trucks OTR with your load

Caution Advised When Working with NJ Transport

I would like to bring to your attention our recent experience with NJ Transport, based in Calgary but with a mailing address in Ontario. We contracted them for a time-sensitive delivery from Ontario to Calgary, which needed to be delivered by Friday before the July 1st long weekend.

While their truck did arrive in Calgary on the scheduled Friday, we encountered significant issues. Upon requesting an ETA for delivery, a representative named Kiran demanded payment before proceeding with the delivery. She requested an e-transfer, citing issues with their factoring company refusing to purchase the invoice.

I intervened by contacting their factoring company and resolving the issue, securing an agreement to fund the invoice and receiving written confirmation of this. Despite this, Kiran insisted on receiving an e-transfer directly from us, refusing to use the factoring company.

Ultimately, we complied and made the e-transfer. Upon the truck's arrival at the receiver, it became apparent that the truck belonged to a different company, indicating they were engaging in double brokerage.

Our experience with NJ Transport was highly unsatisfactory. Their service was poor, and Kiran exhibited a lack of professionalism and understanding of standard payment practices in the trucking industry. I advise caution when dealing with NJ Transport.

You should contact the factoring company explaining this. They might not be able to use said factoring anymore.

Brclog, it is unfortunate that you were not able to check on this site before tendering your freight to this poorly run company. In today’s volatile market, performing extensive research into any entity you are considering doing business with is of the utmost importance. This site is a good place to start for information regarding service and/or payment patterns.

@AgentSmith Their factoring company confirmed by email that they will fund this Invoice. Despite that Kiran forced us to pay. It was Friday and the customer was waiting for the load. We did not have time. So we had to pay them

Did you ever receive a Notice of Assignment from the factor regarding all invoices payable to NJ Transport? As Agent Smith said, you should have a release letter from the factor in order to pay the freight invoice directly to NJ. Shady carriers + factoring companies = headaches if you’re not careful.

It is important to keep in mind that factoring companies have little concern with the behaviour, level of service or business ethics of their carrier client. Their interests lie solely in the debtors ability to pay the money owed to them through the factored invoice. Certainly they don’t want to form any type of a long term relationship with a dead beat carrier, that might be bad for business, but they are far more concerned with the financial capabilities of the dead beat carrier’s customer.
