Short paid $ 1000 due to one day late delivery because of the snow storm/highway closures at the beginning of February/2008. Probably take them to small claim court.

You know we said the same thing a while ago (we have done couple loads before with no problems). This is their loss not ours they lost a good carrier that's all, I think it's not worth it. The receiver wrote on BOL "received under protest claim to follow for late delivery" they dont care if its a bad weather outside, if the hwy is closed, etc. it does happen this is the trucking industry. I have not seen any claims on paper since February last year, nothing else than just a cheque with short payment just like that ($1000 USD short). If they think that can do whatever they want running under their own rules and regulations paying a carrier short they will be left with no carriers working for them. I heard another carrier complaining about this and they have never recovered their money. So just to be aware. That's all. At least I know that we do not use their services anymore or to do any deliveries for this particular receiver. Better off.

Never any problems with MC

We have never had any problems with MC. All load have been COD and have gotten payment with in 10 Days. They should not have deducted $1000 from your invoice , good luck.

I gotta believe that you probably lied / screwed around to warrant such action.

I guarantee your the only one, and I stress the only one who has ever had a problem with them.

Mike tried to deduct 1500 for a late delivery once, when I called the consignee Mike paid right away. He's a shot taker, but he's been around for a long time and overall is ok to deal with. Don't be late, or screw him around or it will cost you money!
