Wages as in drivers' pay, either hourly or by the mile or whatever. Some of the owners of these companies have unpaid drivers protesting in front of their homes. It's all over social media. Super embarrassing.

Just search up their reviews, that should be enough. I received an email from Karnal earlier this month that they stole their equipment as well

Why should the labor court which is funded by those who pay their taxes support and help parties who got screwed because they didn't want to pay taxes? Im not the biggest fan of taxation but come on, if you want to use the resources the taxpayers fund then you need to contribute equally. Labour court is for employees, not driver inc subcontractors. What the feds should do is audit all these drivers on the driver inc program and nail them with back taxes.
That's why these guys picket outside of the owner's houses because they have no other recourse. Do you know how many guys turn down working for me because I dont pay on corp? and then they cry when they get their pockets run by these slimy greaseballs that promise the world and then some on driver inc.

They've started showing up here asking if they can be hired as a corporation. Had to explain what was happening to the hiring manager. None of them wanted to do it above board and walked. Fine by me.
They knew what they were doing, they chose tax evasion over being a good citizen. They got what they deserved.
If the government won’t take action to stop companies from misclassifying employees, evading taxes and using forced labour they had better not step in to help those who knowingly went along with it.

I see more companies adding to their job postings when they post an opening stating that they won't pay to a corporation and the driver must be on payroll.

We’ve had it as the top line on our job postings for almost 2 years because I was sick of taking the phone calls. I still get 6 out of 10 calls where they ask about paying to a corporation. If nothing else, it’s a good way to weed out drivers who can’t read or follow simple instructions.

I’m not sure if MELT currently reviews this… but there should be a course within MELT outlining the risks of the “driver Inc” model. A lot of drivers genuinely don’t understand it and I do feel bad for those.
But if you educate the drivers and they take the risk, that’s on them. I’m not condoning driver Inc, but it’s not going away. Hopefully shippers get wise to this model and stay away from carriers who take advantage of this…

You know what's crazy, I didn't know this until a friend told me, but a visitor in Ontario can get a CDL. Can someone explain why a visitor would need a CDL in Canada?!?!? No wonder people are driving the rates down and crashes are going up. You have people with no status driving these trucks. Had an incident in BC, driver ran from the scene turns out he wasn't even legal to work in Canada.

It is rampant in Brampton. They are for the most part crooked as a dogs hind leg and doing there best to turn Canada into a third world shithole. Anything and everything they can do to screw you or anyone else is a okay so long as they are putting money in their jeans screw the rest. I bet they start checking immigration status on a lot they will find they are here as students. Another JT screw up.
