IRP office closures and no longer offering in person service

It’s been a disaster. I managed to use the online service to process a March 31st renewal. I got that back and made an appointment for today. When I arrived they claimed they had no appointment for me. I was able to show the appointment confirmation and have them process it. The people working the desk have no idea, they are just button pushers.
I have 2 other applications outstanding, to add plates to trucks. I’ve been waiting for 2 weeks now for invoices. I’ve not been able to get any further information or updates and they were no help at the Service Ontario.

We were just told that our Mar 31 expiry date has been extended to April 30 to allow for time for processing.

That is great for March Renewals, not so great for new trucks/ OO waiting on plates.
You're right. I don't understand why we cannot continue to speak to the same IRP teams that we used to use and who know the system. Last time I went for a trailer plate replacement I stood in line 1 hour 55 minutes before my turn.
I called my MPP - maybe you should call your MPP and say that this doesn't work and IRP matters need to be turned around much quicker.

Spoke to the MPP today, I wasn’t their first call on this. They are going to see what they can do but stressed that MTO is very much run by the career bureaucrats and the MPP’s (even the Minister) doesn’t have much power of their action or in actions. I’ve given up on holding my breath.

Does anybody know how to turn in expired plates? I tried emailing them but the answer I was given make no sense.

At this point I might just destroy the plates.

Isn't this just a way for the gov to save money, Loose the gov employee's in the IRP office and go with privatized Service Ontario. I know the Stoney Creek IRP had it's labour challenges at times.

It's the wave of the future.. cut back on services.. make shitty disposable products and jack up the price.. business 101.

Anyone tried applying for new IRP plates with service ontario recently? Our renewal file is still being worked on, as far as I know IRP dosent start new application until the last one is cleared. But has anyone applied and know they will be worked on or just have to wait?

Anyone have an update on this? We've been 3 weeks trying to get plates for new O/O's coming on board.

I've been trying to chase them down to no luck.

Was told by the people that do our stickers and plates that its a mess. They have been waiting since Feb for some stuff. Was told to email your MPP to advise of the hold ups. This is nuts waiting for stickers or plates. How do you conduct business.
