Finding loads for new carrier

Good relationships can't be beat - the above comments usually apply when one party is stuck and has to deal with someone they have no rapport with - and in those situations it is par for course and keep a long memory.

If this is always happening, then it would seem that the bottom line is more important than maintaining good relationships, and for that, you are getting what you pay and working for.

My favorite is

"Drivers grandmother passed away last night while he was in transit to your p/u. Please recover the load- driver changed routes during the Night and went straight home with empty trailer "

Im sure this story works for some call center but anyone who wasn't born yesterday knows with 100% certainty no dispatcher or driver is allowed to move the truck empty even if the sky is falling
Lol i am wondering how many Grandma’s they killed over the years. Oh poor driver

I would argue on "empty trailer" ....
I do understand empty trailer back in some cases
...
1. Emergency situation. - driver don't care about $$$, he just need to get back. (Pregnant wife, someone died, and etc.)
2. Profit situation (on short runs )- in some situation... it make sense to bring driver back empty (even if he bring $0 or small -$...on this full trip) but he will do next preplaned load that bring me good $$$$$. Rather then keep him there for a day or two waiting and "hopping" on the recovery load.
3. There is one more "loyalty" and/or "dedicated" ... when you rather loose money on 1 trip/load rather then loose entire line (months of future work)
--------
It's all depends on situation and relationship between ALL parties involved.

this is so true and many miss it, its all about utilization and you can't get time back. Sitting in area without loads hoping things change typically isn't good for profits
