Hi everybody !!!
We booked a load 3 months ago with Empire Logistics from ST. LAURENT , QUEBEC. They didn't pay us and now they don't answer the phone and they closed their office in Montreal!

Anybody know something about them? Thank you very much!

Lady Janet,

Do a forum search and you will find all the information on Empire Logistics.

My advice to you is call the customer and collect directly from them - don't waste your time trying to get payment from Empire.

Their A/P was Rajinder who I believe left Empire and started his own business -CLL Services (Montreal) - you can try his cell (514-805-9348) and inquire about Empire with him.
 
I can tell you all with certainty, Empire logistics in St-Laurent is owned by the same owner as CLL Services in Montreal. At one point, CLL was a very reliable company, but then they started with only having 'owner operators' (a fancy word with some companies these days pretending that these trucks are theirs simply because they sell them loads). I do not even think CLL owns any of their trucks any more and are simply selling their loads to owner ops, or other unsuspecting carriers. Stay away. PM me for more info on which areas they may be brokering loads to.

Good luck with this it almost looks like a East West deal book the freight in US broker it to their dock in Ontario broker or train west and broker delivery.

CLL SERVICES still operating? They are from Quebec too?

I called Rajinder but he didn't tell me to much, he said he left Empire last year in Oct. but I don't belive him! When I asked him if he knows what happend with Empire he said " NO " !
Do you have MC # for CLL ?

No I am in the same boat. I have an invoice for $5500.00. No money and they still are not answering.

My load was Empire in Montreal with drop in Edmonton , Calgary, Vancouver -
$5500.00 was Febuary 24 2010. No money and I am still looking for them.

Picked up load Sunday Febuary 21 in Montreal (Empire Logistics warehouse) one drop in Edmonton/Arkham Transport, next one in Calgary/FM Logistics, next one in Surrey,BC/AIR Group. $5500.00 - impossible to reach to get pay.

We also did a shipment for Empire and have a feeling that we've been screwed.

Are you able to help me out? Was this shipment yours and did they double broker it?

SORRY ! IT IS NOT MINE !
Empire they are gone !!!!
We lost 4000 .00 $ !
 
A carrier we use, is trying to get payment from them as well. He's asked me to be his Montreal collections guy. I'm going to go check their building but they don't answer the phones.

It's unfortunate this crap happens because it hurts the honest brokers in Montreal or anywhere else for that matter. It seems so much more prevalent in Quebec.

Lousy area

Moose you will not find much up there. There are few businesses up there along Jarry West. The other side of the street(south) is Jarry park where the Montreal Expo's had their stadium.
There is a small industrial park where many of the fruit and veg warehouses are. just between Jarry and the 40 , near central Market Mainly old decrepit buildings in need of repairs

We try to stay away from anyone operating from that area, lots of small time scammers with one or two trucks running reefers.
