This letter is in regards to the business practices of the carrier F.T.C. Limited MC#381694, DOT#870184 (also affiliated with C.J. Thomas Logistics Inc). I hope for this letter to serve as a warning, and keep other brokers from having to deal with such unscrupulous practices. The carrier picked up in South Carolina and once the carrier made it in to Canada with this load, a full 2 days after pickup they decided to demand payment in full before they would deliver and set a deadline of approximately 3 hours for payment, upon which if payment was not received they threatened to warehouse my product plus an addition of $400/day in detention. Detention on a load that is not even at the receiver, defies the definition of the term detention. As we tried to work with them, we even went so far as to offer half payment upon arrival at the receiver and half payment upon the fax of signed POD. Even this was not enough. Even after paying them in full they delivered approximately 8 hours late (remind you that they were wanting to bill for detention as well). As far as trying to track the load, repeatedly I was lied to by their dispatchers as well as their Operations Manager Ken Parker. Their business model has become very clear over dealing with this issue over the past few days, that their scheme is to get the load into Canada and hold it hostage while trying to extort you for additional non-warranted fees and payment up front as opposed to the net 30 terms they agreed to when taking the load. This company is as shady as they come, so it is my intention to inform all brokers that it is in their best interest to avoid them and their schemes.

Have these guys not been paying their bills and use a post office box so that they will be hard to trace, or are they just paying the lowest price possible for their freight. I used them quite a few times a few years ago pulling loads back from Oklahoma to MTL. but always got paid within 60 days. (they were a carrier ofd last resort)

We get paid from Felter around 60 days and yes they are a carrier of last resort with us but they do pay always - are they related to FTC?

Ftc

i live around the corner from this address in Grimsby, and i always see some pretty sad equipment sitting there. I can't see as how they are paying any maintenance on that equipment. Also, the facility is for sale. Not much activity around that yard either. Be careful.

We share a client and just last week we received an e-mail showing a very badly ripped up trailer on the inside, that the shipper refused to load. I inquired if it was FTC and I got no reply. Loaded today at the shipper and was told they do have a problem with FTC's equipment.
Also saw a tractor with the bumper falling of, waiting for a load, looked like an owner op. I can now guess which carrier came in with a really low price!!!

Also known as Frasier Transport, C J Thomas ... was an owner operator for them. They mark up fuel prices ridiculously for card use. Low ball the miles they pay by 30 to 100 miles a segment. If u quit they will hold your last months revenue and never return it. They screw everyone they can when they can. If u run for them, get out. They use shoddy unmaintained equipment. Expect the owner/ops to pay for maintenance and repairs to their equipment. Building isnt for sale .. they were trying to lease out part of it. Not sure if they were successful. This group is bad news for load brokers, carriers, shippers and owner-operators. Stay clear.

FTC owes us money

Oh, how I wish I'd known about this website last year. My hubby signed on with them as an o/o last June, and we're in the same boat now. FTC owes us over $2000  and they owe another o/o that I know over $3000. From my understanding, they have claimed bankruptcy numerous times over the last 20 years. Maybe we should be contacting the companies that use FTC and let them know what kind of people they're dealing with.

FTC and or Felter should be wipe off the map! They are crooks who seize loads, charges 400 per day and ask for payment upfront before delivery. If you happen to have one of their loads do the same and or if they call you for a load take it and then keep it hostage at 400 per day and be paid upfront via bank transfer (I will do it if they ever give me a load).

It is time to stop them and also YES call receivers/shippers and tell them all horror stories for the pas year (at least if payment is not coming you might get yourself a good direct customer and more than likely a double brokered one).

Load link should also be made aware about this from everyone who is getting burned by these j***s. Please call their customer service department and at some point they will lock them out if they get tired of all the phone calls...

Can you tell I do not like them very much.:mad::mad::mad

It appears Felter is gone again. All phone numbers for them and F.T.C. Inc are no longer working.

Felter

If one of the previous posters on this site is correct and Frasier is linked to Felter , they are posting loads out of Montreal to Florida as we text.

I saw some of Felters trailers in the Montreal yard last Friday. They seem to be selling those loads!

They are still operating.

WHY does anyone deal with this guy he has been pulling this crap for years???

New dispatcher took load from him last fall and I have been trying to collect ever since. Should have held freight on our dock until got paid.

Yes, Indeed. FELTER, FTC, CJ Thomas Logistics, FELTER TRANSPORT, ETC, ETC. Check the contact numbers, they are all the same. Their yard at Roberts Road, Grimsby is for lease. They owe $$$$$. Everyone is looking for them, yet they still seem to be able to operate even after their CVOR has been cancelled. I know a O/O that worked for them in the past month - he has not been paid for his work - his plates were removed by the DOT, his truck towed, ETC. He even had to pay for his own fuel - apparently FRASIER LOGISTICS, FTC, ETC now has an address of Jupiter Florida.....but it appears to be a UPS STORE! Beware!

I really don't feel so bad now. I was ripped off by these goons way back, Wish I'd had some resources like these to check back then.....live and burn or is that learn.... always confuse the two.

If Frasier is doing this, the best thing that I suggest people do is not to scare them away. Find out where they are - call them up on a load (don't actually take it - just pretend to want it and go through the steps) and get their paperwork. And if you want, get a confirmation because it's probably double-brokered but DO NOT do the load. Then slam dunk them: Call Link (or wherever you saw the loads posted), check to see whose load it really is, and get a fix on their actual address and phone numbers. Then post it on here.

If there are bailiffs or anyone who has a vested interest in catching these schlubs, doing that will mean everyone will win.

As for the load you call on, call them back once you've strung them out a little and throw back a bit of their own abuse, like "driver's on the way, yep, no problem buddy, uh huh, yep, load's picked up..."

For an added bonus, after posting their actual location information on here per their confirmation and so on, a well-placed call to the MTO Carrier Sanction office and their carrier enforcement office works too. After all, brokering and carrying on a transportation business is serious business. The MTO enforcement guys told me last year that if a goon decides to change the name of their company to something else to avoid using a bad CVOR, that doesn't really work since the registrant's name is linked to both CVORs. A helpful hint to the MTO would be to let them know that the people from Felter are the same people running Frasier and so on.

Another important thing to do is see if they've filed for bankruptcy under any of their names. I only just did a quick search and couldn't see anything as yet. If they haven't, then you should be able to persue them (and the principals) through legal sanctions.
