dealing with an odd claim

In regards to load securement it never fails to amaze me how many carriers I see loading forklifts weighing approx 8000 lbs or more on a dryvan and secured with logistics straps to the side of a trailer.Maybe we're the only ones who seem to think these should move on flatbeds or vans with bullrings in the floor secured with chains to hold them in place in case there is an accident. But on the other hand us dot is satisfied at an inspection if there is a loadbar with 2 rubber ends in place to hold a 44000 lb load in place from shifting.????

I haul those forklifts all the time but the ones I haul are also secured with front, rear and side blocks into the floor. I do have bullring trailers but I will not load a piece over 10k on the vans as I just do not trust the integrity of the trailers to withstand the weight in that small of an area unless it is on the drives or over the rear axles.

I have also hauled cars, trucks , bulldozers, skid steers, tractor loader backhoes and anything else that will fit in the doors. Load securement in these situations is the key a hammer nails and lots of wood can stop movement front, back and side the straps are there also.
