CMX motor express

bad news

we cut them off last year Sept 08, had to call their customer to get paid, heard they were running into other problems, think they were agents for admiral or bennet not sure who anymore but they were taking advance money on the freight and then brokering it out to some other carrier.

I heard that one of the CMX clan opened Maximum Logistics in Bowmanville also.....reports on blog of "Issues in Canadian Transport" show more problems with them. Doing business as a broker for "American Transport" a Pittsburg based company....and double brokering freight.

Cmx

Just contacted one of their customers and was told that I was the 4th complaint that they had and the invoices totalled over $60000.00 Obviously no check in the mail after I was promised by Jen that she personally checked to make sure that the check had in fact gone out on APril 7th. I am really getting sick of people like this. Contacted the Link and started small claims today.

FarmerScotty,

Where is this at right now? I have run into problems collecting from CMX recently and am trying to work through their customer at this time. Did you get paid in the end? How long did it take? Or, if you did not get paid... Have you taken them to small claims? and How did you make out with complaints at the Link?

Forgive me for all the questions, I'm pissed... I would never have dealt with them if I had seen your post. And it's not like I didn't look. I searched this forum for CMX and got nothing. Even today, when I search the forum for CMX nothing comes up, even thought this thread is here, and I have started a thread of my own recently with their name in the title.

Anyway, thanks for any update you can provide...

I did some research on CMX MOTOR EXPRESS based in Bowmanville and it appears as thou they are rated E on Internet Truckstop CreditStop Broker.
"E" - Out of Business (No active bond and/or broker authority)

I called them at 2:22PM and someone answered & I looked on loadlink and they connected last at 08/21/09 9:07AM.

Does anyone know whats going on ??

They are a transportation company. They do broker out some of their freight. (I think that includes double broikering off of the link as well, but I digress.) They may very well be brokering without a bond or brokering authorities. They can book off Link Logistics due to the fact that they are a carrier. Without either an active bond and or broker authority Internet Truckstop CreditStop Broker will not show the company.

Thanks for the digging guys... getting more info by the minute...

This is an old thread, but still relevent. I have another thread at http://www.insidetransport.com/showthread.php?t=4641 discussing my very recent problems in getting payment from this company, CMX Motor Xpress. Yes, they are still answering the phone, and apparently still in business, but it seems have just decided to stop paying. Perhaps the beginning of the end??

I spoke to their customer this morning who the load I did was actually for, they seem interested in getting involved and tell me that of course they have already paid CMX for the work that my company did...

Anyway, thanks for keeping this alive. I will keep updating with my progress on both threads.

UPDATE!

I just spoke to the customer again. They have informed me that they paid CMX in full for the load.

Pretty clear what's going on here. CMX Motor Xpress gets load from a customer, gets a real carrier to move the load, gets paid by the customer, and in the end stiffs the carrier.

I will be suing them next week.

Thanks for the info FarmerScotty.

I am filing court papers today.

May I ask, how far into the court process did you get before they settled?

Update!

Well, I filed with small claims court this morning... And then...

I got a call from Victoria at the Link saying she had spoken to CMX and were told a cheque would be coming out on Wednesday... Well see...

Interesting how they can't seem to call and tell me that they are mailing me a cheque. Seems to me they are trying to buy a little more time to stay on the Link...

Well, it's Thursday now, and no sign of payment. No sign of anything!!

I just called the Link again, I am told they are checking on the status of other complaints and may be on the verge of cutting them off.

just booked them on load of mine, wish i read this before, hate doing business people like this, ph 905-623-5072 fax905-623-4525 address of 30 Caristrap Street, Bowmanville, on L1C 3Y7
