Cheap Freight of the day

Vaughan to Brampton 8 skids 8k lbs $100 bucks 53ft preferred but straight truck will work needs same day DEL. Not going to say who this was, they are reputable but am I really out of touch with the Market or is this normal?
Well, not to be an evil advocate, so..
May be, JUST may be, it was a trip from one side of HWY 50 to another, which is a borderline beetween two cities, eh..

good point, but unfortunately we don't have those fancy self driving trucks that run on air...yet lol
For comparison, a shipper pays us $250 bucks to go 8 miles but takes about 3.5 hours to complete (loading/unloading)
Not sarcasm, someone has posted it up here from a couple days ago.
Actually worse, it was Whitby not Oshawa lol
Ouufff.

You aren't out of touch... the person asking for this to covered for $100 all in is absolutely off their rocker for a 1 off on-demand rate imo!

Our tariff is $110.25 + FSC for ltl sameday in a straight on this lane... $100 all-in would be too low for our crew.

Only way that rate would happen with us is a daily scheduled load, same time every day, on a 1 year commitment.

Good to know my sanity is in check LOL

BUT ALAS TQL strikes again:
Posted the Load as TORONTO, ON TO TORONTO, ON - call in to be told its actually Newmarket, ON to North york, ON - RATE: a whopping $150 bucks...

Then they posted another load Vaughan, ON to Toronto, ON.....guess what its the same load. Asked them if they knew Newmarket, On is its own city and the response: "we post it like this so we get more calls" o_O

Posting BS pick up or drop off locations on Loadlink or anywhere is always done. I have had people post Montreal and say oh sorry a town 5 minutes outside of Quebec City
I can understand this for a pick up somewhere not well known or not high traffic, but for NEWMARKET really? I also don't expect much from TQL, but this was a good laugh to start off the Friday morning LOL

What a time waster to call and only find out they lied / concealed the location to make it more attractive. Brutal how someone people think nothing of wasting someones time.

And that is exactly why our team here doesn't accept loads from the boards, aside from the getting paid in less than 30 days issue. I'm surprised TQL even posts inter-Ontario loads let alone inter-Canada loads, I doubt the rep even knows that most of M1V 0G5 is a Mall or Retail Delivery.... Tailgate required more than likely.

We'd rather conserve our assets to move freight that is properly identified with proper addresses etc for the reputable members on this board who need assistance.
