Unfortunately, the "under bidders" will always be around. Yes it's frustrating, but sometimes you can have some fun with the person on the other end of the phone too. Like quoting the cost for hay, watering the horses on the way, buggy wheel repairs, etc... LOL
What size was this LTL shipment?TQL must be giving out free crack!! I was offered $1000 from LaGrange GA to the GTA Canadian$$$. They are so helpful.
Yes there will always be cheap freight in this industry. If it's too cheap for you don't do it. I don't get why there has to be a 11 page thread about it.
I cold call numerous companies everyday and a lot of them are super cheap. I just leave it at that and walk away.
My mistake, it was actually Vancouver.I quoted a customer (not a 3pl) $2700.00 for a couple of loads from Emonton to Toronto via rail. He told me he had a rate of $2200.00 over the road. He wanted me to match.
I told him that for the rate there was a good chance that his freight would be probably end up being "all over the road somewhere between here and there.
Uggghhh ... that is incredible. Even for rail.My mistake, it was actually Vancouver.
