We hauled this load for this company name Alpha rover trasnsport. It was from Montreal to Toronto and it was 53 feet reefer load. This carrier Alpha Rover was trying to cross dock in Brampton so they can take this load to USA. Next morning they had appointment for 8am for offloading at cross dock but there driver didn't showed up and my driver waited for 4 to 5 hours and these guys were not responding on offloading.
They said they will pay $150 to hold trailer till next day 11am. We dont have spare trailers so holding trailer means driver is on hold and cant get back to work. We had to cancel his next shipment and next day till 11am he had to wait just to get offloaded. Despite requested several times to get offloaded they didn't cooperate neither they answered calls of my dispatcher leaving us stranded with load.
Finally I advise them that it will be $50/hr after 2 hours which is pretty much standard as everyone who runs reefer knows its hefty to run reefer operations also costing driver hold etc. They had many hours amd could have arranged there storage which they didn't.
Basically they knew load will not be delivered at 8am but tried taking advantage of my trailer and driver for storage purposes intentionally.
Thes guys denied that they wont pay requested $50/hr after 2hr which forced us to take payment before delivering a load they kept on calling and texting and threatening that they will involve other parties to resolve issue. As they dont have any credit score we didn't risked being unpaid.
At the end they end up paying and we delivered load right away.
Asking to get paid fairly means they want to come online and throw wrong allegations seems totally unacceptable.
We have been working intra Canada for last 5 years and known to be reliable and trustworthy carrier. If any broker or carrier who read this post will confirm that we do what we say and believe in trust and honesty more than anything.

Nice story, Masab Logistics. It’s amazing how different a story can look when you leave out the important parts.
You’ve hauled at least 10 loads for us over the past 2 years, and we have the rate confirmations to prove it.
You were told at booking that we would try to get you offloaded the next day and, if there was a storage issue, we would pay the agreed $150 layover. Instead, you held our load and demanded $1,425 for one day, refusing to deliver until you were paid upfront.
Then you mention “credit score” — interesting, considering you’ve done business with us for years.
If $1,425 for holding one trailer for a day is your definition of “standard industry practice,” I’m sure the rest of the industry would love to see that rulebook.
If anyone here believes $1,425 for one day of holding a load is normal industry practice, I’d genuinely like to hear it.
