That’s assuming you are dealing with a sensible, reasonable person/company. Anyone who fails to appear for a court date has already displayed a lack of understanding of what the consequences of his actions could be. Those who let things get to this point usually are not concerned about their personal or business reputation or their standing in the eyes of their peers or customers.A judgement on file, however small it may be, is nevertheless the kiss of death to any business that relies on trust and goodwill to any extent. That’s where the real power of a small claims victory lies. Unless the owner is a complete idiot, he /she is going to ante up before it gets to that point. Imagine jeopardising your business for nothing more than a smalls amount..crazy..
There are some folks who think their credit rating is like their underwear. Mess up one pair and then put on another one! Unfortunately, the real world isn’t quite like that.Yes, perhaps a bad assumption to make. Some people will allow their credit and reputation to go up in smoke for a pittance.
They also do the same with their operating authoritiesThere are some folks who think their credit rating is like their underwear. Mess up one pair and then put on another one! Unfortunately, the real world isn’t quite like that.
@FR8 4ME It is vey likely that Candid is monitoring this forum, please be careful with what you post regarding your planned attendance in court
We won our Counter Claim against them. The judgement issued is with our Collection Agency now but they are having trouble tracking him down. Any information pertaining to the location on the Jain Family would be helpful and much appreciated.@boxermom hope you don't mind me asking but how your court date ended up. You noted that Candid did not show up, did the judge throw out the case/rule against them? We have a court date coming up with them too. They/the Judge has pushed for it to be in person and we are not in Alberta.
This reply is based on the fact that I do not see an update.
The day the postal strike ends, have someone hang around the Shoppers Drug Mart at 5500 Falsbridge Dr., Calgary. You probably know this but Piyush Jain uses Box 98083 as his residential address for both YK Freightways and Candid Haulers. In fact, the registered head office address for Candid is Box 98006.
I guess you need to decide how much money you further want to spend. An Alberta PPSA search might run you a $100.
Did you get an AB or ON judgment

Sorry to hear that . I am from GMR transport we are not sure it happend to you as we are still dealing with them on this claim and they are trying to obtain the money and not paying you. Please contact me on my email [email protected] or provide me yours and your company name.We also got scammed by these crooks in 2022 and it was pretty bad. They double brokered our reefer load and the final carrier had reefer malfunction in transit and brought the goods back to shipper after 6 hours. It happened in June-July so the load was refused by shipper due to high temperature. The final carrier was Goods master roadways which denied the claim at first but we told Candid haulers that they should be the one dealing with GMR. A couple of months after that we hear the news that Candid haulers disappeared and they stop answering phone calls, we end up paying the customer out of our pocket.
