We just received the exact same letter. Funny thing is, if you go to Rockman.ca they use 'Rockman Trucking' and 'Rockman Transport' interchangebly. And of course the numbers on the site are no longer in service. Thankfully all we did for them was a $200 cross-dock and not a $2,000 load.

We got the same letter this morning, I guess the letter takes care of all the money Howard owes to carriers ($10,000 to us) since the NEW "ROCKMAN TRUCKING" is brand new and are DAT customers, they can scoop loads from unsuspecting US brokers and double broker them to poor hard working sap's like us. When is Loadlink going to wise-up and kick this parasite off their internet site?

I just filed a complaint with Loadlink that Rockman is scooping US loads and selling them through his DAT account to unsuspecting Canadian carriers. If lots of others complained maybe Loadlink will do something about Howard Rockman.

Spoke to link the DAT account is through there affiliate company not sure why they arean't off yet. Doing business with any of howard rockman's companies is a way to assure you wont get paid.

we also got a couple of calls from people looking for these clowns!

they owe A LOT of money!

Rockman

They are easy to find,

Just go to Intermediate Warehouse on Cote de Liesse Road in Dorval.
Head upstairs towars Canada Customs and turn right. At the end of the hallway, you will find a series of offices, quite extensive actually (need lots of staff to man phones for looking scanning various alternate load boards).

They do not like visitors in any form.

Never touched any of their freight. My neighbour worked for them for 3 years until 6 months ago when she was let go. Warned me off them herself. Amazing stuff went on in there. Many ex employees are very bitter.

I have seen one local tractor with their logo on it, I believe it is used to carry out container cartage, never seen a highway tractor although they may exist.

Stay very far away from these guys in any guise.

If lots of you out there are owed several thousand, and you believe fraudulently, please get together and form a little group, gather your documentation and set up an appointment with the Surete Du Quebec.

Make sure that you have overwhelming evidence (should be a given) and present your case.

The law will have no choice but to pursue. If you go at it alone you will likely get nowhere.

Good luck!!!

Sales people

I would think not.

This may be closer to the job description:

The modus operandi is to find freight on alternate load boards , quote the client. Be very obscure about the wherabouts of your equipment, then post the load on Link.

The next and final step would be to sell the load.

Take your staff from accounts payable and tranfer them all to accounts receivable.

Presto!!

There are no sales skills required.

Rockman = BAD

I was informed through my collections agency that Howie is declaring bankruptcy. Even if it's not true, stay far far away from Rockman...no matter what the business name is!
And DO NOT fall for all of his sob story excuses as to why he can't pay...believe me, he has a million of 'em!

Not paying carriers

You will not get paid.

Many carriers have been ripped off and counting.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OUTFIT.......

We got got

We are one of them, scumbag sold us a load in the spring, and now that I have found this website, its clear that we won't be getting paid the $1750 they owe us. I'll be contacting the shipper and receiver on this...This Howard guy is quite the piece of work!!

Good morning
I understand fully where everyone stands , Double brokering Triple , Co-brokering ETC... We have had our own trucks in the past and yes failed, But Us in Transport La fiesta inc. Still did not close doors, we continued Through brokerage and never failed to pay our carriers. Most carriers we work with we try to build a relationship with so they feel comfortable moving freight for us. I know noone likes brokers because they think we sneak around our clients. But as you can see Our clients know exactly what we do, They know it is not our trucks moving their freight, but we have bult this relationship with our clients which is CO-BROKERAGE. Trucking companies can think what they want but we all know when a truck has to move we grab what we can to get it moving. This is not new guys we all know this. One thing is for sure WE at Transport La Fiesta Inc. PAY OUR BILLS and we do not run away. I know how some brokers are sneaky because we did get screwed by a lot of BROKERS as well, But we always pay our bills.

My name is Alexander Dante I do work at Transport La Fiesta inc. For a very long time and I have been trying to change our image for quite some time now. And Thank you Inside Transport for making My carrier search so much easier.
Have a great day Everyone.

Alexander "co-brokerage" occurs when you take a load from another load broker or trucking company and sell it to another trucking company to do the work. They are not your customers to consider them your customer you would need to receive payment directly from the shipper or receiver, otherwise you are just taking another piece of the pie for yourself same as the person who sold it to you. Ultimately it's the delivering trucking company that looses out.
