Does Rockman have trucks?
I posted a truck on link and Rockman called me on a load out of the USA back to Toronto. I had the wrong type of equipment so it didnt work out.
10 minutes later I get a call from another carrier/broker, offering me the same load, and I told them I had the wrong type of equipment and they were wondering how the hell I knew that.
Apparently the mississauga carrier/broker had given it to Rockman but they had sent in the wrong equipment. So eventhough Rockman had already failed at covering the load I guess they were taking it upon themselves to help find the right carrier to haul it... or continuing to try and double broker the load (in which case how do you not get caught in your own lie?)

And how the hell do companies continue to get away with this??

Thay do have trucks as Crystal Transport according to them.:confused:
I personally have never seen one and they are not listed on safer that I could find. How do they get away with it fast fingers on get loaded etc and not up to speed brokers and carriers. I personally dont think a stick of freight they move is theirs it is all double or triple brokered.

Crystal Transport books freight with brokers and turns it over to G Roch where the freight is double-brokered. They do not like the term double brokered, they prefer co-brokering, see article

http://www.groch.com/htm/eng/misc/Co-Brokering vs. Double Brokering.pdf

Rockman books freight on Truckers Edge(DAT) getloaded and truckstop and double-brokers the freight on loadlink, carriers wait up to 90 days to get paid.

These two companies have been double-brokering for years. G Roch and Crystal have no trucks and Rockman does local work with the Montreal Port Authority. If you see any of these two companies posting freight it is definitly double brokered and you should look on alternate load boards to find the 1st broker involved. Not a bad idea to report them to the initial broker, perhaps an excellent way to find yourself a new client.

Nice to see we are putting them out in the spotlight here. There must be a lot of companies that have no idea they do this. We havent used Rockman for sometime, thanks for all the info Montreal Trucker, keep up the good work

These guys took a load from us and all was good, everyone was happy. Then I get a call from our customer on the day they were to pickup and was told that the driver cancelled because he had the wrong equipment. A reefer as opposed to a dry van. So we gave the shipment to someone else and it was done. I just got a bill from Rockman saying they sent a guy 300 miles to get the shipment and that I needed to pay them those miles and a truck ordered not used....

What a joke these people are.

We caught Rockman double brokering one of our loads, little did he know that they come into our distribution centers and I check every truck that comes in to make sure it is who we brokered it too. When I confronted him he was surprised we care and he actually said "what we all can't make some money off of this"....we paid the carrier that actually hauled the load $200 more than what Rockman sold if for and they still haul for us today.

gotta love that! dumb enough to double broker a shipment out of or to your own yard (or terminal). Not surprised we have had that. Oddly from a PQ Co.

Attention attention attention

all rockman does is double broker, i know someone who used to work there...the end!

Rockman

I had a broker in the US that had work for me for years, almost a dedicated lane. The shipper started splitting the work with another US broker and Rockman was double-brokering their loads. I lost that business, it's over for me. I have no idea what to do next, I am just so angry. They went in there for a rate that is not sustainable but they're moving all the freight now.

I will never deal with Rockman, La Fiesta, G Roch, Northern Force , St-Lambert or any of these garbage Quebec double brokers that have never worked a day in their life. They just sit down all day watching US load boards like vultures, while we have to dispatch trucks and borders, we just dont have time to constantly monitor the load boards like they do. Not only that, they try to defend their scam, look at what the fat cat at G roch had to say in this article he wrote.

Also, La Fiesta can come on here and clear their name but the fact is, they are one of the most undesirable companies in Quebec. They were trying to double-broker Princeville PQ to Forest Park GA, I have the proof Angela ! There's a lot more information out there on La Fiesta but by now I am sure everyone is aware thanks to this site.

That's an interesting read Montreal Trucker.

It really gives you an inside look at their warped sense of reality...

The point he is making in that document can be boiled down to this:

If a "Load Broker" gets a load from their customer and brokers the load to another broker, who then brokers the load to a "Real Trucking Company", this is refered to as "Co-Brokering" and OK in their books.

However...

If a "Trucking Company" gets a load from their customer and brokers the load out to another "Trucking Company", this is Double Brokering.

Gotta love the way they speak this bullshit like they actually believe it...

Thanks for the chuckle...

Until these brokers that allow this to happen stop giving these Turkeys freight, the only way to deal with it is not to deal with them. They will either lose their relationships with these brokers or actually have to use their own trucks in order to cover the loads and run themselves out of business. Either way, the only option is to steer clear of these butt-plugs...

Rockman and how they do business

Joe Tex, Inc. based in Mount Pleasant, TX posting Atchison KS to Trois Rivieres PQ, Rockman attempting to double-broker the same loads as Kansas City KS to Shawinigan PQ.

In other words, they will post a nearby town/city because they know that we know what they're up to. Remember, if you see Rockman posting a load, have a look at an alternative load board and 99% of the time the load will magically appear in it's original format.

A million years ago before DAT hooked up with Link I used to get the load info via fax first thing in the morning from DAT. It was truly amazing to watch one by one as these loads appeared on Link posted by the famous Quebec double brokers. At first (being somewhat younger and full of p#@s and vinegar) I called the American brokers that had originally posted the freight to let them know what was going on. Guess what? They couldn't care less, they were getting the load moved. So as Godfather says, STOP taking the loads from G Roch, Fiesta etc and they will have no choice but to ante up and buy their own trucks to move the loads, or get out of the game. My bet is they'll stop.

The irony of it all re:Rockman

just reading all the replies on here and I realized we got caught hauling a double brokered load. Rockman owes us from last year May and October for two loads invoiced in US funds-what does that tell us, that there is truth to what I am hearing about Rockman picking up loads of the US boards and double brokering them to us poor carriers. Just remember Rockman that what comes around goes around.

Does anyone have any current information IE Phone# Where the business are registered, owners address?

any help would be appreciated

To all those that are being owed by howard or transport denis beware you will not be paid and continuing to do business with this rat is on you
