PeopleNet System Very Disappointing

That has to be the way it is set up in the system that is sending them the information. Using TruckMate we have the choice to either stack up a driver's loads so he can get an overall view of his weekly work schedule, or his work schedule can be set up so he only gets them one at a time. The other thing we can do is set up a pool of loads so drivers select the next available. Lots of different ways to do it, but it is totally dispatch [company] dependent.

Thank you sir. That was my thought on it as well. I'm looking forward to hearing about your transition as I haven't been the happiest with Omnitracs as well and would consider making a switch based on your experience and transitional issues.

The drivers whom I've spoken to don't like the way information is provided to them from Isaac without them sending information. I honestly have no experience with it so I don't know how it functions, however the drivers whom I've dealt with leaving companies with Isaac say for example, they don't get reload information until they send a depart or delivered message. They don't get pick up numbers till they arrive at a shipper. If they fail to "close" a trip, they aren't paid. Again, this could be particular to the way a carrier has the system set up. These could be drivers that simply don't understand how to use it. There are so many unknowns for me, hence the reason I've asked Mike to let us know about his experience rolling this product out.

thanks, we are about half way through rolling it out in our Fleet - and from what you describe, thats totally the way that the carrier has configured the solution - ours is set to give them the information as soon as the the order is sent to them, including pickup numbers, even if they aren't empty yet.

I appreciate the clarification, for a moment I was worried that we had missed something very obvious when we made the choice to roll them out.

FWIW ... I have laid out a rather ambitious plan for our Isaac install.
Ours, when full completed by the end of 2020 will include E-log, track & trace, geo-fencing, auto detention time billing, semi-auto invoicing, document imaging, and time sheet printing, as well as all the other basic stuff like fuel tax, etc.
This was our initial plan for PeopleNet, so we're sticking with the plan, just supplanting the hardware and back office integration.
