Frontline Carrier Systems Inc.

So, would it be safe to say that they "might" have local trucks both here in Ontario and perhaps in California as well? The line haul portion of the move however, is performed by other carriers? I am just trying to get a handle on what exactly it is that they do, so that we can govern ourselves accordingly in any future business transactions.
Yes.

OK, great. They seem to provide good service and pay their bills (sort of/kind of).....both good things for a broker to do. As far as being the primary carrier for a shipment however.....they are not.

I forgot to check my golf shirt the other day before putting it on inside out and going out in public..

Oops...
did that at the Halifax airport few years ago 6am flight on a Saturday morning. Couldn't figure out why the security officer, after I was done my pre-flight clearance was asking me if I was a trend setter.................

At Shakey. One can certainly tell you are a trend setter, based on your hairdo in your profile picture. !!!

Sal S. I don't know for sure. What is known, is there is no reported mileage on the Safer website, nor are there any vehicle or driver inspections. They are registered as a carrier, and as a broker with the required surety bond on file. This might indicate that they do not operate trans border equipment. We can only assume that there are some local trucks at one or perhaps two locations. That pretty much answers my original question....are they a broker, or a carrier?

We have worked with Frontline for years. Never been a problem for payment and are always there to help solve any problems that might arise. They've kinda make California consolidations their specialty.

They've been around for a long time, and yes they at least used to run consolidations from LA. Not sure if that is still the case though.

We get paid by them within 30 days; good people to work with

FYI - Frontline in Oakville still pays us within terms today; we work with them daily, and have always been great people to work with... (off my original post here from 2015...). If you do have any questions or concerns, Mike Mallon is their GM, he works out any issues that come up with our regular dealings. Hope this helps?

As I have said before, my original question was not in regard to their service or their payment history, both of which appear to be equal to or better than industry norms. I was trying to determine if they operated as an asset based carrier, or a third party provider. From the bulk of the answers to this question, I have concluded that they are a third party provider.

The ties to the old Trans Canada Truck Lines are strong within this thread :D
