Jac Transportation

not denying you are a good carrier, however I thought you should know your payment index is 99 days past due in red?? (Equifax)

My bad luck

Gave them some freight on Wed to pick-up Thurs, called thurs after lunch to say the truck was still getting new tire put on, he would be pick-up first thing in the morning. Truck was then leaving too deliver this as a 1st drop. Friday called some story driver slept in, would be there by noon, driver then hows up at 2.pm to say he's picking up for some other driver and he has to take it back to the yard, and have transfered. Did get there for Monday noon, but lots of BS. No more frieght for them.

i don't pay anything out of the brockville office

the paydex on jac oshawa (where the bills are actually paid) shows a 1 in my system - have no idea why it would show 99 on my page as I don't get or pay bills out of this office whatsoever... none, nada, zip. equifax has a bad entry there for sure. same happened at sextant took us 1.5 years and a letter from the guy who supposedly gave them the bill (he didn't know us and we didn't know him) to have it removed - it was an error on the part of equifax but they sure didn't want to fix it in any hurry.

i haven't NOT picked up any van freight due a flat tire in the last few years that I know of.. this wasn't a Van movement and I quite frankly don't know anything about it... was this a flatbed/deck move? Please advise me and I will look into it. Thanks sherry 613-924-0674

I would also vouch for Sherry, they have always done a great job. Also as far as Equifax is concerned I would put more faith in this site then what Equifax says.
We had a nightmare a few years ago because someone with a similar name did not pay thier bills. It took almost a year to clear it up. In the mean time carriers would not handle our freight because of a bad Equifax report that was totally inaccurate.

Yes and maybe the van div works for flatbed rates instead of the flat bed div working for van rates??????

CALLED EQUIFAX AND THEY DIDN'T have any record of us with a bad credit issue.. IT WAS LINK LOGISTICS and it was an ERROR. The problem has been rectified by Link. We have two offices but only 1 pays the bills and our crecit is all good. Take a 2nd look - no credit issues with JAC.

We had a fellow working on the deck side that is no longer with us... Contact Wayne over at the other office and I'm sure you'll get better communication and service than you previously experienced. 905-579-5959. As to the Van side, I'd be referred to as anal when it comes to on-time delivery and communication. Better to say it twice than not at all. Let people know what's going on before they call you.. that's why my phone bill is so big...lol. I talk alot.

Can't quite understand what u are getting at here. The Van division has had the same rates for the 9 years I've been here. We run NC and SC daily. When fuel took a big jump and everyone was charging 16-30% the highest we went was 12% and we were one of the last carries to even charge a fuel sur-charge. We don't change our rates inbound during reefer season either. WE do the same business all year. We don't drop our pants outbound during reefer season and then jack the rates inbound up. Rates inbound and outbound remain the same all year. Insurance, Tires, Service, and Fuel are all certainly a lot higher than they were 9 years ago, yet we haven't seen a raise. Have you had a raise in the last 9 years? We provide excellent service, not cheap whenever it gets there service. If a client wants his freight on time they'll get it with JAC. You get what you pay for. Just give GX a call and ask them what happened to their TX freight or Debut and ask them about East & West and their cheap rates and what happened to Debut's freight. Give Millcreek a call, Darrin isn't there anymore but someone should remember that team load than went out west cheap and what happened to it. If you want a quality product or service you generally have to pay for it. We are not in business to go bankrupt. We are not the broker who is pocketing the coin without the Millions of $'s invested and at risk the carrier has on the line. Phones and offices and sales people don't cost as much as trucks, fuel, and insurance. We actually have company benefits and WSIB. We are not some come and go outfit. No slag against brokers, most of the ones I work for are really good at what they do and RESPONSIBLE, however there are people out there out who endeavor to make big bucks off every load and they are the same guys who take forever to pay the pittance they offer the carrier and they are the same guys who open and close shop like the restaurant business leaving the carrier holding the bag with the bills they didn't pay.

I have to say that I have dealt on and off with JAC over the past ten years I've been in the business. Never once have i had a problem with them. I have never had to sift through BS to get a real answer. An awesome honest carrier.

I have to second godfathers comments about this carrier. We have used them for the last 5 or 6 years and have never had a problem with service, rates or communication. Let's face it - if you get these 3 things, you've got yourself a good carrier. As mentioned by jac earleir in this thread, you get what you pay for in transportation, just like you do with everything else. We are constantly reminding our customers when they ask for a rate reduction, that the only carriers who will haul freight for ridiculously low rates, are not the carriers that you want to trust your freight with. I cannot even imagine the type of carrier who accepts some the low rates being offered by firms such as CH Robinson and some other brokers. As a broker myself, I have enough trouble sleeping at night worrying about the economy, without making it worse by putting out stupid low rates and wondering if the freight is actually ever going to arrive at my customers dock!

I agree. What I meant was the Flat Bed Div of JAC was working too cheap not that the van div was too expensive. Have not had a problem with van div either.

Please advise what the comment on Debut Transport has to do with this. It seems you are suggesting we only use cheap bad service carriers because we are cheap. I understand this is your opinion. We have not had relations with you for several years that I know of.
