Chica123, yeah the logbooks would be great, but this company is not providing anything, and if they actually do not know which truck their driver was driving, I'm guessing they can't remember where they put his logs either... Oh, and I have the driver's home phone number, but when I called him he had a very strong accent, and claimed not to understand anything I said...
Still not sure about the 100 trucks claim that his insurance broker made, but I have spoken to State Farm and they have confirmed that they do insure "some" of Aarthick's trucks, but they claim that "some" of their other trucks are insured by another insurance company. First time I have ever heard of something like that...
Alx, we have sent the carrier plenty of information, by mail, email, and fax, and I have called them numerous times. Their story is the same everytime, we don't know which truck was involved in this accident so we can't do anything about it. I am guessing they have done this before and were successful at it, so are trying again... The name of the game is confusion... I do have a bill for the work done on the fence, and I guess he really destroyed it. They had to remove a gate, post, and several sections of fence, and then it all had to be replaced. And of course, this is not a little 4foot fence like people have in their backyards.
If anyone is doing business with this company, make sure you get their certificate of insurance and look it over well. The insurance info they gave me indicated only State Farm, no other insurance company. Make sure you have a valid certificate for the actual truck and trailer that are hauling the load. It might not hurt to call State Farm with the certificate in hand to make sure the equipment being used is insured by them.
