There will be a trade deal struck between Canada and the US in the near future and it will require some concessions on our part, perhaps a few less on the US.

Yes, there definitely will be a deal, but I'm not so sure about how quick it will come. My guess is that it will wait for some other "earth-shattering" event that will shift the news cycle focus elsewhere. Then the two sides will quietly get together and hammer out a deal.
Yes, we're definitely going to get hit with some tariffs we can't avoid, and hopefully they stay minimal.

I don't know if Carney's ego can take that, (I mean let's be real ... Trump has been living rent free in both Trudeau's and Carney's heads since each has been in office, and he certainly seems to be enjoying the living conditions.) and that might throw a monkey wrench into things.

I think not so much of a concern, as they are losing drivers and license mills like crazy too. Non domicile CDL? Finished. Can't read Cat in the Hat? Finished. It's all levelling out.

And anyone that is even close to being an illegal is getting turfed as well. That may, in the near future, have some detrimental limitations on some Canadian domiciled drivers that do not have Canadian passports, and operate on U.S. visas and/or work permits.

Oil in the US has hit its highest average ever, 6 bucks gallon.

Midterms are in less than 2 months and Trump needs that down. He'll do something dumb here shortly to get the oil price to go down temporarily and that will be the time the 2 sides hammer a deal out that Trump will proclaim as a victory for the US.
