YMO Logistics (1001123035 Ontario Inc)

I'm also curious if anyone has worked with them. They seem to email on a lot of our loadlink postings, which is a little bit of a red flag for us and they don't seem to show up on Safer or WSIB. We decided not to take a chance on them but , has anyone else?

Their legal name is a # company. They are not registered with the FMCSA to go to the US.

dom@linear, not sure if they sent you that themselves or if you got it from WSIB site, but that certificate number comes back to a different company when we search it and their name/number does not show up on WSIB site at all. Unless we entered the certificate number wrong...it comes back to Karolina Construction. I recommend you cut and paste that certificate number D0000JGC7X or name into the WSIB site and see for yourself(just in case I made an error). I will stay cautious of them though, unless your search returns different results. Please let us know.

Thank You for pointing this out. I did not double checked their documents yet. This is what they scanned in our RMIS portal.
I'm a current RMIS user, they do not check anything the carriers scans in. The only docs they verify is the insurance that they get directly from the broker.

If you look at the certificate you can see that the font size in the contractor's name and contractor address is larger. It's a fraud.

CVOR number is accurate. For 5 bucks you can order a level 1 profile report and find out how new they are.

Good day everyone. I would like to introduce myself. This is Andy from YMO Logistics and I was referred to this form by one of our customer. I would like to clarify this for everyone. We made some changes to our WSIB and every time you make any changes. WSIB issues a new Certificate Number and that is the reason why the old number is coming back as something else. Our updated WSIB is M0000JH83X.

Concerns about Emails. Please let us know which companies don't want us to email them. I will inform my team and we will avoid emailing them.

We are a Legimate company and we are trying to provide the best service to everyone. We have hauled loads for reputable Brokers (Traffic Tech, Ilco Transit, Contender Logistics Etc). If anyone has any concerns please reach out to us directly on our number or email us.

FYI - The reason why it took long to reply to this form is because I was waiting for my Inside Account to be activated.

So how many trucks do you actually have? Seems like some fishy stuff to a degree. Help us all get it and what you are doing?

I think it might be a good idea for them to post pictures of their trucks holding a newpaper with the current date.. That's a great way to vett a carrier. And have the insurance company include the vins on the insurance document.

Hard to argue with that type of proof.

Had a conversation with them. They will not give information about how many trucks they have an will not share any details of ownership or any details that would be beneficial to vet them as a carrier. Very Shady and not worth our time.

Address is a building and they don't supply their suite number either.

Be very aware!

Hey Alex / VJ,
Please learn how to respect Carriers. When you called us, you started cursing at my Dispatch as soon as he answered your call. We do not tolerate abusive language towards our employees. You (Paige Logistics Ltd.) are being blocked from our system because we do not work with Brokers who are disrespectful and use abusive language towards employees. Please take your business else where.
Thank you

I'm so tired of goofballs pretending to have trucks and trying to scam our industry by taking loads from honest brokers and then double or triple brokering them and then not paying the actual truckers who pulled the loads.

When I am vetting a carrier, I ask for lots of pictures of their trucks and when they say "we have multiple trucks", like you did, I want proof of multiple trucks, and vins confirmed by the insurance broker, and the COI sent to me directly from their insurance companies, and GPS of the truck you are going to be sending as proof. Not one picture of one truck and shady slow half answers. And when I get mad and frustrated that you are being so shady you blame me for being so direct?

If I had trucks, I would love show them off, and have pictures of them in my wallet beside pictures of my kids.. This is Timmy my oldest, and this is Joey the soccer star, and this is Kenworth and MAC and Peterbilt! So proud of my boys... want to see more pictures of my trucks? I mean kids!

If you were a warehouse company, I would be asking for a full video of the facility including video of street addresses etc., and fyi, that's what google does now, they ask for full video of all business locations. I know because I did one a few months ago.

Anyway, good luck with your company.

It is very unfortunate that honest operators, brokers and carrier alike, have to go to such lengths to ensure they are dealing with honourable, reputable partners. I wanted to say that the crooks are getting smarter, but that would be an insult to smart people! No, the bad guys are just doing what they always do, acting like rats looking for cracks to get your business and steal from you. You can’t say it enough these days, but there is no such thing as being too cautious. I know that the honest carriers can get upset when they are asked for lots of verification about their business, but this is just a conscientious freight broker doing their job the right way in todays market. Similarly, reputable freight brokers should recognize that a carrier’s questions about your business and your payment patterns are a necessary nuisance in light of the number of shady characters out there.

My numero uno sales pitch to prospects? My cold email - Hi, we have trucks and attach a presentation that has so many pictures of our trucks.

Unwilling to show pictures of trucks/proof/anything - confirmed shady.

And I'm so tired of jumping through a thousand hoops trying to prove that I'm not the same guy the broker got burned by earlier this week. I've been a carrier over 25 years, we have lots of publicly sourced information to prove that we exist and provide the intended service. Before anything happens, brokers can look at my FMCSA information to confirm dates of authority acquisition, insurance, SMS scores for valid inspections, CVOR status, website, google maps. We share a ton more information about our address, bank, WSIB, get our insurance broker to send certificates directly. Then get asked to log into some website - make me fill out forms, we get asked for all my lanes (which nobody ever looks at), transfer all the information from our W-8BENE into a form (why can I not upload this), CTPAT certificates (which we are supposed to add them to the portal). Some brokers use Highway which makes the owner get a code by phone, then have to send his driver's license and selfie just to get logged into put enter the information.
Now we have to get the driver to take a selfie in a specific spot in front of his truck and within a minute send the VIN number for the door panel. Then brokers want to dispatch the truck, talk to the driver, ask how many hours he has left on his log, ask if she has enough money for tolls, what fuel cards do you use, dispatch to a second place to pickup extra freight, oh and now please download this app on your phone so I can make sure you're on time. This is also followed up with send me the paperwork and the border crossing documents. To top it off they call at 4am to tell the driver that he's been stopped for 11 hours and you should be driving by now.

Yes, brokers have it tough, they can get burned by a guy who holds a load ransom or double brokers. Usually, they picked this carrier because he is the lowest rate by a bunch and didn't look at all the warning signs - just got their authorities, never used them before, never heard of them, new user on load link etc.
Carriers have the exact same problem but in reverse; we get brokers who go dark and will not answer their phones, do all that crap noted above but not pay any accessorial fees, short pay because the driver's battery on his phone died and it took 20 minutes to get their Macropoint back on, overload the driver, lie about the appointment time, no touch freight turns into hand bombing (but don't tell anyone, I'll throw you some money through interact after you're loaded), no customs paperwork. To top it all off I hear - sorry the customer did not approve any additional fees.

I'm all for due diligence but some of this is way over the top. If you're dealing with a one truck, one guy carrier, fine, then ask away. If you're working with a carrier who has dispatchers managing drivers and equipment, then asking for their insurance to send a VIN list and having drivers with selfies snap pictures in front of their truck holding today's paper is way too much. When the market turns around, and your customer is screaming to get his load moved in a tight market, brokers better rely on some other method to confirm the validity of the carrier because you'll get none of it. The carriers taking advantage of brokers will be out there in full force milking it. Now is the time to make good relationships with carriers when you can.
