AST & Logistics Inc.

We just found out a load we booked with AST & Logistics back in August of 2022 was double brokered and they've not paid the carrier who did the work. Looks like they're looking for $5k payment, but AST who was factored by BVD at the time was paid. AST also signed and accepted our terms outlined on our load confirmation which states no double brokering.

Anyone know how that works when their receivables were assigned to a factoring company? Is the factoring company legally responsible as they accepted the money on behalf of AST?

call the factor but might be too late now. I've been successful getting a Factor make a carrier pay a carrier they DBL brokered to but I was lucky it was only 60 days old.

I would call the factor. They have agreements for this sort of thing against the principal of the company and I'm sure they have been through this before. They may even still have funds on hold with AST that is not paid out.

If you don't have any success you may have to get a lawyer involved to see if you can sue BVD/AST in SCC. Either way another headache that comes out of this double brokering problem. I had a similar situation a number of years ago and the factor was not helpful at all - in fact they sued me in SCC and we had to come to an agreement but the shipments in question were paid twice. For this reason I refuse assignment of our invoice and will not pay to factoring companies. I have it marked on our carrier confirmation and I have had a couple carriers who will not take the load if they cannot factor it. It seems to work.

In my experience factors are approachable. Until someone alerts them of their clients actions they may not know what's going on. Further, should they determine there is increased risk for them in dealing with their client, they may increase their holdback or fire the client all together if the existing business model differs from what they agreed.

I've contacted the factoring company and informed them. I tried to find out of they had any current receivables with them so that they'd have some leverage to get the proper carrier paid but they were unable to tell me. I feel like if we've paid them on behalf of their client then they should be on the hook, but I don't quite think that's how it works. Fingers crossed this gets settled.

hi, can you tell me how to check if my missing freight from November might have been on the rail? I am missing 8 skids from back in November that i gave Gillx that i guess might have gone on the rail. Any idea where it might be sitting for 4 months?

As Arthur is no longer affiliated with AST & Logistics Inc., Arthur has no knowledge of the business whereabouts of AST.

It has however been brought to our attention recently that AST is involved in suspicious activities using the good name built by the previous owner (BERNADETA KLONOWSKA).

They are also marring the good reputation of ARTHUR TRANSPORT CO INC. by using the old address and contact numbers.(which is currently in use by Arthur Transport Co Inc.)



2: ARTHUR TRANSPORT CO. INC (MC#: 375651) (Trucks :36)

Arthur Transport Co Inc. was bought over by Chamkaur Singh Sidhu with 15 trucks, The business has since added 21 more trucks to bring the number of trucks to 36.

New Update - Ranjit Singh Dhaliwal Contact 4169313006 new owner of A.S.T & Logistics is a different person than Ranjit Singh Dhaliwal Contact 7808507063 owner of Dsons Transport Ltd. They are two completely different persons who happens to have the same names. Dsons Transport also have been a victim of load hostage from Khokhar Logistics ( one of Otal's company ).
 
I just contact the Ranjit Singh Dhaliwal Contact 4169313006 new owner of A.S.T & Logistics, and he owns truck service shop never owns truck. Does anyone knows their location, the location i have in RC is a home.
