Here is an other warning FYI....

Please be advised about this broker working out of the Laredo / Nvo Laredo area. They are brokering loads to carriers but are not paying.

They go under two names. - Discovery Transportation ( US side ) or United Carriers Intl ( MX side ) - Do not take any loads from them under any circumstances.

Discovery transport of Guelph, on, is in no way shape or form connected with the discovery listed above. Only by coincidence do we share the same name.

In fact...the only spanish we know is "Dos cervesa, por favor"

Yet another winner of a carrier ...

Booked a load with Sandra on Friday Jan 15th-2010 to load on Tuesday @ 8am. Simple enough.

Today, Jan 21st, the load is supposed to deliver, only to find out, they didn't even pick it up, nor did they call our dispatch to advise that it hadn't. I called this morning, Sandra is out, the dispatcher doesn't know what I'm talking about, and Sandra will have to call me at 2pm when she gets in? What??? I decide to skip all that, called the shipper to see if it was loaded and NO, its still sitting there.

I'm now waiting for the owner of Discovery to call me so I can talk to him about their lack of communication and moral code when deciding not to pick up a load for whatever reason and not telling the people they're working for.

VERY VERY SHADY - AVOID LIKE DEATH!!! WILL NEVER HIRE AGAIN!

However, in their defence, the other dispatcher Cam I've been speaking to has called to advise that the owner is going to call me this afternoon after he/she speaks with Sandra. Maybe its a dispatching problem, as opposed to the entire company?
 
Ummmm you havn't traced your load in 6 days??

I'll guess their response to you "we never got the fax and forgot who you were" choice #2 "our truck never made it through customs over the weekend but he'll be empty soon"
 
I told their dispatcher when they called me to fax back the load confirmation with my signature that I could not do the load. He said that he would inform the relevant people....did not hear anything from Abacus until I walked into the office yesterday at 4pm and was told by Cameron that Nick called and I was to call him back. I did that and was told that Nick was not available and left my cell number for him to call me back as I was on a booked days hol. I have yet to recieve a return call from him.
 
Dont use Discovery Transportation Services from Guelph, You won't get paid and most loads are double brokered. You won't get a call back from the owner which is Ginder and he would rather you "try" to take him to court. He has a partner Raj who takes no responsibility for any payment issue and he as well is happy for you to try to take him to court.
