Has anyone experienced an audit?

If so, I am hoping that fellow members of this forum may provide some help so I can avoid any pitfalls they may have experienced. We have been targeted for audit mid November and I would like to ensure that we have all of our information in order. They have requested quite a detailed list of items, including but not limited to Financial Statements (Private company), Cheque registers, Contractor and sub contractor lists, payroll records et al

If you can offer any help please feel free to address this thread.

Thanking everyone in advance for reading this thread.

survivor of the audit

We just went throught an audit last month, second time in 5 years. Came out clean both times.
If your a broker have WSIB acct #for every carrier
If you have Owner/Operators , have a WSIB exemption letter for each one.
If you have company drivers and office staff, make sure your T4 summary matches your WSIB report. Only officers and directors of a corp are exempt from paying into WSIB, so if you income split with your wife or other you will pay if they are not one of the above.

WSIB is in debt, short of cash and have hired a bunch of new auditors. The one I had could only answer questions with, I only received 2 weeeks training can't help with that question, I will get back to you.

Lots of luck

Thanks to Dave and Bubba-One, I beleive we have the answers needed to move through this audit without alarm.

THANKS again IST FORUM MEMBERS for
your help!
