Workers Compensation - Question

Confusing and so many mixed opinions eh?!! - shows why it is hard to get an exact handle on these rules!!

To other brokers out there.... what is your procedure??

Focused100, if you ask for and receive a WSIB clearance certificate from a carrier who employs owner operators, I would say you have done your part. If you use a single vehicle owner/operator, they should provide either a WSIB clearance certifcate OR, a letter of exemption issued by WSIB. It is my understanding that WSIB use a series of questions to determine if the owner/operator is an employee, or and independent contractor. In any event, protect yourself and get a clearance certificate or exemption letter every time.
