Wolf Run Logistics / Wolfrun Logistics

Here, once again, appears to be a case where a large, well known shipper, the type who often appear at transportation symposiums prattling on about their safety and efficiency systems, allowing a carrier/broker/joker to be in care and control of one of their shipments. If this load started in the hands of Day & Ross, how did they let it filter down to this character? Certainly their contract with McCains would be very strict about re-brokering/sub-contracting McCains freight. I am sure we all would be interested to hear what McCains have to say about this.
Here's how loaders... You're a freight broker if I'm not mistaken so you don't get exposed to this as much as carriers do. But now a days... these big brokerages man (Quarterback, Transplace, FLS, Traffic Tech, TQL etc, etc) ...pull kids out of college or university give them a phone a computer and 32,000 a year... "Now go move some freight!" Some companies offer these newbies a monthly bonus based on the amount of profit. So they sell freight to the cheapest bottom link lizard they can find (Wolf Run for instance). Who has apparently made it their business model to try find people even cheaper and greasier than they are. Freight Brokers that actually "know their $hit" and there are a lot of them on this board are becoming harder and harder to come by.

When you do know your stuff... Carriers are really easy to deal with. Don't screw them... they won't screw you. Win - win Kumbaya...

Well said Nawk ... very well said !!!

UPDATE:
Just heard from a friend of mine at D&R, apparently this was Wolfrun's first and last load ... LOL
Kudos PhilD ... good job following through on that :)
After Phil reached out to D&R, Wolfrun got shit-canned ... LOL

I get it, and yes well said. What I don’t understand, and this is coming from a freight broker who deals with a couple of really large, well known shippers ourselves, is how can the original broker or carrier end up selling the load to a low life, link lizard (I like that one!) in the first place? I know, your point is that the whole process is a race to the bottom in pricing, I understand that, but it has certainly been our experience that large shippers, like McCain and our client have really strict contracts that severely restrict sub-contracting. We have to vet our suppliers damn near to death and constantly have them filling out safety compliance forms, etc, etc on behalf of our client. So yes, I can see where selling the freight to the lowest bidder, regardless of their reputation, or operational abilities can and does happen, how are these large shippers allowing it to happen? I think we all know the answer, maybe they are turning a “blind eye” for the sake of saving $25 or $50 a load on a 200 load/year lane? Just sayin’.
