What happened to Private Messaging?

I noticed PM was unavailable late yesterday afternoon also....I assume ADMIN is aware of this?

What is going on?
How do we contact Admin since we can't send a PM?

I guess that Notifications replace private messaging and maybe I was asleep at the switch, but I just discovered it when some sent me a message through notiifcations.

Click on the member's name and then send message. A screen entry filed then pops up. It appears you will only see the notifications word on your forum page if you receive one.
