Does anyone deal with these guys? We did a load that required a meat inspection, WEL didn’t tell us and about the inspection until we neared the border, as a result our truck spent the weekend at the border. They don’t want to talk about detention charges until after we deliver, I have a bad feeling about these people.

Probably get the .. Well we do not want to go after the customer for waiting time in this slow economy. You know just trying to keep the costs down for the customer.
Page 6 of the douchebag broker handbook is all about how to screw carriers in slow times.. No idea if this will be WEL,s MO but it seems to be starting that way. You reefer guys I would go nuts having to put up with the crap you folks do,, Lumpers inspections and just the places they deliver yuk...

It can be we have done it for years and a couple times CFIA can be a pita but never had meat inspection and I have over 300 sku's of animal feed we bring in on a regular basis. Was it wet food? Trying too figure out why meat as never in 20 years of the client and pet food ever had meat inspection?
WEL took responsibility for not informing us the load needed a meat inspection and agreed to pay the weekend layover and all extra charges. Looks like they are a good company, I will update this post after we recieve payment …… thanks to everyone who replied.
