Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway to acquire Pilot/Flying J

Berkshire Hathaway invests in company it sees value. It doesn't change the way the company operates either. They will probably end up selling the shares in a few years and take their double digit returns.

Their plan is to increase their holdings over the next 6 years and become the majority shareholder with 80% ownership. Their counting on revenues continuing to rise over the next several years. I wonder if they see the ELD mandate as a potential source of increasing their revenues?

Those trucks will still require fuel and I think we're still a ways off from truly driverless trucks. At the start, I could see trucks still needing someone in the cab.

I see this as a land value play.. alot of these truckstops occupy some prime real estate, the value of which will only go up over the years. It's how some of the bigger trucking operations in Toronto grew weathy even in depressed freight markets.
