Has anyone had experience with Vitesse Transport in Lachine, QC? Good, bad or otherwise?!
Thanks in advance!

Vitesse

Cheque is never cut until 75 days from your invoice date, and you'll receive just under 90 days.
They haven't gone over the 90 mark ..... but always very very close.

Surprised to hear that about Vitesse.
I have worked closely with them over the past thre years, and usually carry a balance between 1-5 thousand monthly.

I personally know one of the owners and several of the dispatchers, they tend to do what they say they will do.
I have never once had to call for a check although it is always a pleasure to speak with the youg lady in payables.

Payments are slightly better than the norm , between 30 to 45 days from delivery to receipt of check.

Could there be a problem, or they may treat certain carriers better than others.

We've been working with them for the past 4 years or so and did quite a lot of work for and with Vitesse. Payments are 45-60 days never over. Can only say good things about these guys and would like a name and address for those that say otherwise :)

Vitesse

Invoice date August 5th - chq rec.d October 30
Invoice date November 18th - chq rec.d March 23
Invoice date January 27th - chq rec.d April 16

That is our payment history.

Well, I asked for the good, bad and otherwise for Vitesse and I got it!! Sounds like we'll be waiting anywhere from 30 to 60-ish days for payment. I was just making sure that this company wasn't on anyone's DNU lists!!

Thanks for all the input, everyone!!

Cher

Could it be that someone from your company got someone over there pissed off?

This is definitly not what we have encountered!!

Vitesse

The facts are ... after 60 days we start calling ..Margaret (not on Fridays) and/or send her e mails, at that point of contact she agrees to cut a chq and mail it.
This has been the same for us for 2 years ... they are not on our DNU but are on a "Slow To Pay" list.

It.s unfair to speculate on the reason.

Our accounts payable files clearly show invoice and payment dates, and with that information that is what I base my comments on.

Why do they pay a carrier in 30-45 .... and another in 75.
Good question.

Cher

I guess I am fortunate, I used to work at Maisliner Transport back in the late 90's and know Margaret from accounts payable over there.

It seems that I have been getting preferential treatment for the last few years without ever knowing about it!!

I will run out after work and buy one of those lottery tickets.

The fact that someone may be paid quicker than others may be because of sheer volume. If they only do a load once in awhile for one, but 100 a month for another, they may put the higher volume account as higher priority to pay to keep good relations.

This is total speculation on my part...I could be totally wrong...I would like to think that everyone is on the same playing field, but business doesn't always follow common sense, now does it?! ;)

That's a good spectulation however we have only done 7 loads for them and the age date on my invoices have been 16 days to 69 days, not consistant at all with payment. I usually have to call a few times before they have a cq ready, but never have we not received a check when they said they were sending it.

No one ever answers the phone

Hey guys you'd be lucky if you could get some one to answer the phone when you most need it.
Stay away boys.

I always give them freight, and never take from them. Funny to hear that they pay in 90 days.....they always start calling me after 15 days...and I've repeatedly told them our payments are in 30 days ... However they always do a good job and I've never had any service issues.

Never dealt with their Logistics division so I have no comments / do deal with Chris in the flatbed division and they do a good job / just stay on top and make sure they deliver as per schedule /
