Has anyone worked with this group? Just saw their contract and load tender... the clauses on that are unfavourable to the carrier. Results in a minimum Deduction of $150.00 is you don't provide GPS updates every 2 hours?? Carriers are to pay any and all fines even when they do not know any exist? Missed appointment results in a $150.00 deduction. $100 fine for not invoicing with POD within 7 days of delivery...

More legaleze than seen from the big box stores.

Only real fine is if appt is missed on delivery at big dcs.

Do 3PLS actually get away with this legal mumbo jumbo, is this a joke?

How angry would you be if your pay out is -400.00 usd than you thought. All because you sent a pod at 9 days instead of 7 and you did updates every 6 hours instead of 2 and driver missed either p/u or dlvry appt by a few min.

Honestly these are predatory charges.

i could agree with the missed appointment and the POD one.

I also agree with deduction for no prior notice of being late on a delivery. Just dealt with one that took 4 separate business days to deliver

Hello, I am sorry to say this but deductions are completely unethical maybe even illegal and can be viewed as the same form of hostility as a carrier holding freight hostage demanding payment.

I ve only ever deducted 80.00$ cad from a load sheet because a carrier showed up late after business hours to pickup and caused the shipper to pay a couple hours over time.

A lot of time a POD is required to get paid from your own customer and is required within a time span. Do you think it is fiar that you pay a carrier x amount of dollars to delver a load then you wont get paid because the POD wasnt in on time?

Carriers always want waiting time but what happens when it is the other way around? CP and CN are late for every appointment made and tack on waiting time for being worked in. It has to work both ways. Crews are hired to be a location for off loading at a certain time and truck is no where to be found with no communication . Who is to swallow the bill on that?

Late delivery with no communication would keep everyone honest. I think we have all heard the famous driver is around the corner meanwhile they are in the terminal

POD issue should be resolved with your payment terms to carrier, they shouldn't start until you get what you need from them to bill your customer.

Due diligence on your carriers you do should take care of communications issues to ensure you are using only the cream of the crop when you pick carriers for those loads. If you get stuck with last minute booking unfortunately nothing is guaranteed in life and unfortunately neither is our profits, I've given out of pocket many times in my years without taking from carriers...............but I ensure others in my field know about these unreliable carriers and hopefully find out same from others.

Nice one to try with new carrier, how about on-time bonus instead of a late deduction?

Due Dilligence can only go so far. I had a trusted carrrier crap the bed last week on a key load.

Bonus system would be unique.
