So we get a call for one of our loads and it's a new carrier, we vent them, insurance checks out, references check out, pic of epq checks out, driver arrivers and it's not the carrier's name on the door, (all new carriers we ask the customer to advise what name and usdot is on the door) so I called and he gives me a story that it's his truck and trailer and the VIN is under their insurance, I said ok all good please make sure it's the same driver...
NOW-
I start calling the company whose name on the door and we go over all the details and yup 100% our load, I got in my car went to the carrier home office and showed all the emails and rate con, I even went as far to call my customer to explain so we are good, we are paying the carrier direct and put a 100% freeze on any new carriers for CRB...
We called the scammer and told him the gig was up and he stuck to his BS story, the load that was given to the carrier was from broker/carrier named "Coppers" who are also based in TX!!
On Monday we had 3 usa carriers call us and it was so weird as the insurance was all from the same office in TX (progressive), so we didn't give them any loads, so I think they are targeting us for loads and 1 almost got by us.
Like this industry isn't hard enough now we have to triple check everything!!
Also the load that was givin to the carrier was from Coppers in TX, we called
