Truck Repair Scams - Kansas City MO

Just wanted to give everyone a headsup that we have received two phone calls over the past few weeks from vendors that claim to have done repairs on our units. In both cases, both callers claimed to be repairing our trucks in Kansas City and looking for payment- in both cases, trucks were in the area but certainly did not need repair. When caller (who called from a "no caller id" number) was asked for specifics such as type of engine etc, calls were disconnected immediately.

Just a word to the wise to keep your ears open and verify everything before issuing any payment to vendors for alleged repairs.
 
We have had those calls for years going down 75 through TN and GA and new guy fell for it, they actually caught the guy trying to cash the TCHEK at a Flying J.
 
Just spoke to the KC Police Dept - I am the third out of state carrier to call in about last nights events. Probably doesn't go anywhere, but awareness is the first step to preventing something like this.
 
I can't imagine in today's day and age who would pay something like this without doing the background check?
