Good morning,

I'd like to hear you guys on Tricor Transportation and the fact that a certain well known character seems to be amongst them called Troy Maclean. We gave Tricor a couple of loads here before I saw that information. What would you do? Would you keep on using them?

You can find Troy on uShip trolling for freight. I looked into uShip once, but found it less than a honest place to do business. Troy was one of several brokers fighting over loads. Sad part is they then sell these "quality" loads on Load Link. I took a pass on both Troy and uShip.

Yes, I read the previous thread but I wonder if he owns Tricor, or if it was the best he could find with his reputation. It makes me want to go away but I do not want to punish honest companies for a bad apple.

I just looked at uShip again and Troy is under Tricor Transportation Inc. Tall Tree Logistics is another one buying freight on uShip. I am staying away from both.

Very interesting - I guess Troy is out of jail
From 2009
The jury must grapple with whether or not it can believe in the crucial evidence of eyewitness, Troy MacLean, an admitted drug addict who told the jury he watched the murder, and even participated.
In a Barrie court, MacLean admitted he worked out a deal with the Crown to testify against the others in exchange for a manslaughter conviction rather than murder.
He was sentenced to seven years in prison and could be out as early as next year after serving two-thirds of his time.

110% - he failed to show at trial when Camlane was sued - reason for non-appearance - incarceration

It is the same guy, he screwed me on a load last spring. Load was supposed to be 102" wide, we went 275 miles to get it. Show up at the shipper and low and behold, it was 140" wide, rated him for the wide load and he wouldn't budge on the rate he had for a legal load. In the end he even refused to cover the 275 miles we ran to get it, not a single dime. I would never ever use that turd again. (and it turned out, it was a load he got from Uship)

I've never heard of Troy Maclean but I am having some trouble getting payment from Tricor Transportation

Tricor Transportation Inc
2A 3411 Shenton Road
Nanaimo, BC

Invoice is now 3 months old. I am supposed to hear back from their controller this afternoon. We'll see...

Tricor has gotten slow with us also. Their A/P is no longer there - so payment reverts back to Marianne.

Her email is marianne.tricor@telus.net and she does respond. But it may take a day or two.

Give her a call and ask when to expect a cheque. We finally did get our account cleared up - but it did take awhile....

What gets me through all this is...How come Tricor, Tall Trees, Abacus have so many favourable comments on USHIP? are the balance of the carriers that bad in comparison?
I have to admit, I signed up to USHIP about 6 months ago, made 2 bids in 6 months, but moved the trucks and pulled them before anything materialized. I see Big Freight, and some other reputable places registered on there, don't know if they get any freight off it or not.

I did notice that uShip is now tied into Richie Brothers. Guess you quote all that you can on uShip, then find the truck after you are awarded the frieght. Really sad to see.

Big Freight has their Logistics Department and there is one guy I know of who is signed up on uShip. He mainly looks for freight out of the east to come west and he usually has a truck for the load when he books it.

We just finished up doing business with them. In terms of payment - be prepared to wait anywhere from 70-90 days on amounts under $1000. They drag...and drag...and drag....not worth the hassle....

Thanks AR@DRC...I have enough hassles on my plate. Read some of the history - not worth it.

Any recent payment trends on Tricor? My dispatch just called me asking about them as they have a load on the link.

I told them to stay away... but thought I would see if anyone has dealt with them lately out of curiosity...

Is Troy still with them, and is he based in Ontario or BC?
